Will Delicious Tuning Stage 2 flas work w/ stock header?

I may be trading in my car, and I currently have a P&L header w/ the Delicious Tuning Stage2 EcuTek flash installed.

I no longer have the cable, so I'm wondering if I can just swap back the stock header and leave the tune on the car, or will it drive worse than stock that way?

any ecutek tuner or anyone with a ecutek cable will be able to flash it to stock.

It will run with stock header but wont be optimal.

Yeah, I know it can be flashed to stock, but I need to trade in the car and don't have time to wait. Thanks.

I'll just put a note in the owner's manual for the future owner.

sounds like you're screwing over the next owner... take the extra time to flash it back to stock or leave the headers on.

Howso? Next owner gets a free tune and ecutek license. Runs fine with stock header, not optimal I'm sure, but still better than stock.

sure he gets a free tune, but the tune is not optimized for the setup. you have the stock header on a tune that is meant for an aftermarket header. I doubt it will run better than stock and will have a lot of knock. especially if the next owner is someone who is not knowledgeable about cars and will probably never mod anything on his car. if you run the stage 2 tune on a stock header, there is more negatives than positives.

Dude, it will run fine, the tables will adjust. I ran the stage 2 tune for a while before I got my headers and the logs looked fine.

There's a great chance the car won't pass a smog check when running a tune. Depends on the tune, though. Leaving the wrong tune in is crapping on the next owner. Uncool.

Recently just passed smog with the header, should be fine with stock header. Also, not like I had a choice since no shop that had a cable would let me use it or do the work until next week, and I had 2days to make this work.

I just drove the car 200 miles and ran it through the entire rev range. No problems, and felt fine.

Maybe @DeliciousTuning will chime in?

It is definitely not recommended to run a Stage 2 on what is now a Stage 1 car. Our Stage 2 tunes were designed around cars specifically with an aftermarket header, and for good reason. Running this tune on a Stage 1 car will have improper VVT timing, ignition timing, fueling, di timing, and more. This can actually be quite unsafe. I highly recommend flashing the car back to a stock tune before selling it.

Sincerely,

Zach

Acting like this will make the car harder to sell for all of us. Be responsible, please.

Well, too late. Like I said, I had 2 days to make it work, and I tried calling around best I could. Nobody would let me use a cable for 5 min, nor did anyone have time to do the 5min of work even if I paid for it for at least 5 days even though I explained that I needed it done because I was selling the car and reverting back to stock. Not like I didn't try to revert, which is why I made this post.

I fully disclosed to the dealer I traded the car to, so I'm done. Thanks for the input.
