Difficult downshifting to 2nd gear
Anyone have this problem from downshifting 3rd to 2nd? There's always seem to be something clunky, making it "hard" to put in 2nd from 3rd?

I've honestly never tried, I usually just downshift as far as third but don't bother going further because the low speed defeats the purpose. If your going a little too fast it can certainly be clunky but low speed should be pretty smooth.

indeed, rev higher. I go to 2nd from 3rd when I'm at 44-42 dropping and it requires some revs.

Synchros only eliminate the need to double clutch, but rev-matching is still needed for a proper downshift. Rev-match downshifting reduces stress on the drivetrain, prevents forward weight transfer, and reduces chances of wheel lock.
Going from 3rd to 2nd can be done smoothly as long as you rev-match properly, although it is a little more difficult to get smooth compared to downshifting from other gears (6 to 5, 5 to 4, and 4 to 3). |

There's more shock on the drivetrain from not properly matching your engine and trans RPM. Rev matching is literally the exact opposite of shock loading.
Also Tcoat doesn't sleep. Fact. |

And my point is that if your downshifting so aggressively that shock loading is an issue then you're either on a racetrack or doing something illegal lol

I dunno, I always rev match. I even rev match when I'm going from the bottom of 3rd to 2nd. It's less driveline stress any way you slice it, and it's certainly smoother. The balance upset that relying on the synchros causes really bothers me though, but to each his own.
