Some batteries can't handle it. Rob tried quite a few before settling on the Big Crank's. I went with 4 audio batteries to get lower resistance. This gives a quicker dump and a quicker recharge rate. One of these days I'll find someplace to just put the pedal to the floor, and hold it down, to see how low these batteries go. The lowest I've seen so far is 23V, and they bounced back to 28V in a minute.

The reason the voltage is dropping so fast and then climbing back up again is because the batteries are being over taxed. You're not draining the batteries down and recharging them, you're drawing them down and then they are recovering.
Normal battery recharge takes time...it doesn't happen in minutes...These are not Lithium Polymer batteries..and they take at least an hour to fully charge. The same way as if your car doesn't start and you keep the starter turning for 8-10 seconds. Only this is doing that on a regular basis. Which (I've always understood) is murder on the batteries...

My batteries lasted for about two years. And they're the cheapo Power Sonics. So much for "murdering" them.

Oh
And by the way, my STARTER battery died first. Long before the dump batteries. |

You've got to be kidding me. They are weaker in every way. 16 AH and only 170 CCA. How could these possibly be better?

A few people are running it this way, and the new kits will be recommending it. The Odyssey batteries are safer to put into series then the big cranks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No butt dyno yet. Hopefully soon. What's interesting though is that it takes longer to charge up then the big cranks so they hold their charge better. Also supposedly the Odyssey is capable of supplying a higher cranking amp for a short burst (5 seconds) which may also be why Rob chose them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As I said in my original post. I am trying to figure out how it is that the batteries are lasting any time at all.
Not that you guys are doing something wrong....just that my experience tells me that the batteries should not last long at all..... so much for my experience huh? Pax
