I ordered the OFT 2 days ago. It was delivered about an hour ago. After eating I downloaded the software, installed and patched win8.

I walked outside and Read the stock ecu map from the car. Came back in and and plugged the OFT into my machine. Opened the manager and it updated in a snap.

I pointed the Manager to my previously downloaded 1.34 Stage1 map and uploaded to the OFT.

Walked back outside and plugged the OFT in, followed the on-screen directions, and let it Write to the ecu. Total time was about 15min tops.

I started the car and let it idle for about 1.5 mins. Eased out onto the road and drove gently for about 10mins and let the temperature rise to normal.

By then I was out in the sticks/backroads. Long graceful curves for miles. I opened the throttle to full for several 3/4/5 gear pulls and I still can't get the grin off my face.

Sweet Mother - my little FRS pulls like a banshee now. Very nice rasp from 4K to 6.5k sweetening up to 7Kish gear shift with an excellent exhaust growl at the top.

I want to give you guys at Vishnu a round of well-earned applause .

Fantastic job!!!

The OFT tablet looks to easily be the best upgrade my lil Whiteout FRS has seen thus far. I am very happy with my purchase. Extremely happy.

Thanks guys!
I'm you are enjoying the OFT. We love seeing reviews like this. Thanks for taking the time to write it!

I feel the exact same way. I'm still a bit disconcerted by the rasp /rattle noise right around 4k under hard acceleration. any thoughts on this @shiv@vishnu ?

At 3800rpm, there is a big swing in VVT exhaust timing. It goes from 15deg to 40deg over the span of just 200rpm. This is to minimize the torque dip. And it can sound a little raspy during the changeover. Nothing to worry about though.

I like the sound of it... I feel an aggressive tune is much closer to the way the engineer(s) who designed the FA20 intended for it to run. It is music to my ears.

That said... I hope we get the thumbs up from Shiv soon for E85 use with the stock header. I'm sitting at about 1/2 tank of 93octane currently.

I'm about 20mins away from a station with E85 (at $2.85gal) and I am really looking forward to the difference the corn juice makes.

Ok so my tank is finally low enough that I can try the corn juice tomorrow. Only concern I have is for when I want to switch back to regular gas. Any suggestions for how to do that safely?

Drive the car down until the low fuel light comes on, shut the car off, and reflash to the non-e85 map. Proceed to fill up with 93 (or 91 if you live in Cali).

EDIT: Just checked and you do live in Cali, so yea, 91.

Just a quick note to everyone trying to drain their tanks down to get the highest E-85 concentration. We have 50L fuel tanks and of that I can confirm at least 45L of that is usable. When the gas light first comes on there is almost exactly 10L left in the tank (in my experience). So on 5L you should be able to comfortably go ~50km or 30mi.

I suspect there is more usable fuel than 45L but I haven't pushed past that yet so take caution.

So this thread has brought me out of lurking! I have had my OFT since they first came out and can say I love the thing. I can't wait to put the corn maps on (hopefully this afternoon). I'm running completely stock engine and exhaust so I will report what numbers I see. Also, any update on when we will have downloadable logs and not just live readings?

Also you can keep a spare fuel can in your trunk on your 'switch' trips to the fuel station. Good to have an E85 one and a gasoline one, that way if you over-do it you're not stranded.

I was so busy trying to burn off all my gas that I didn't even notice. You have effectively made my motivation to stay at work drop to 0.
