Ya, but at least for a change it is still relevant.
Not like when somebody resurrects a thread from 2009 that is trying to guess what the HP will be.

Between 5-6000 getting off the line. By the time you get to 5500 in second you are pretty much at the speed limit on surface streets, so the shift pattern goes 1st-2nd-4th. I then tend to cruise at 3000 rpm in 4th which is pretty much where a second gear 5500 rpm shift point drops you.
Gas mileage is not something I think or care about.( Unless the fuel light comes on!) EDIT: Damn Zombie threads. Made me go read the whole damn thing to see if I had already posted and if so see if I was consistent!

Ya exactly if you're worried about gas mileage probably shouldn't buy a super sweet cool car like these are, eh?

1st gear shift into turbooooooo (queue power rangerd turbo song)
1st 4kish 2-4, then at 2.5k to 3k 5th @ 4.5k 6th @ 3k 1st always feels slow, so i shift at 17mph. On my other car i shift at 10mph. ![]() [ame]https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dHII7-iiKec[/ame]

I'll jump on the necro train.
I became a bit on a rev junkie when I first started driving it last year. I'm super paranoid about low RPM = low oil pressure. Then I turned on the eco-upshift thingy. It's crazy how low it's programmed but I began using it for a couple things. 1. I keep it in mind mostly when the engine is cold. 2. I still feather the throttle until 2000 rpm but I'm less paranoid about operating between 1500-2000. I trust the engineers telling me it's ok to short shift that much. Whether your operating below or above the flat spot depends entirely on the conditions. Just focus on being smooth with your inputs.

I realized when shift above 3k rpms the transmission is very quiet and joyful to drive
in the flipside if shift 2-2.7k rpm the transmission is noisy |
