Rear 901000326 ($2.82 x 4) M10 X 38 bolt

I don't remember if I put anti-seize on mine or not, but I didn't have the torque specs at the time, so I used the German torque spec of guttentite with my standard 3/8" ratchet. I will probably apply some anti-seize to try and make sure they always come out when I need them to.
Bold portion correct. You can find those STI bolts at a local hardware store as well, in high tensile grade 10.x even! Guttentite's no good for these bolts my friend...remember when using anti-seize that you need to reduce your final tightening torque value as well! Don't forget to retorque/check torque on these bolts regularly.

I will caution, that unless one is doing this upgrade for a car with more power or some kind of sanctioned racing, or purely aesthetics, these brakes are a waste of time and money.

On the second half of that, use a ton of antisieze because 80% of the brembos we remove for rotor replacements end up having to be helicoiled.
Yes. Yes. Yes, but check what I said about final tightening torque above.

So besides the brackets from KNS that someone else mentioned...
Specifically what would one need to do this with 04-07 Brembos (as I'd assume they'd be cheaper and easier to fit 17s over)

Thanks

Talk to KNS to see if those brackets still exist.

It's been mentioned several times in this thread. You need: 04 STI front rotors OR 08+ STI front rotors REDRILLED to 5x100; 08+ STI rear rotors REDRILLED to 5x100; STI brake caliper bolts; BRZ brake lines; etc..

All the Brembo calipers are the same in size, just differ in mounting areas. There's no difference in what wheels fit 04-07 and 08+.

The site says they're on backorder

Yeah, forgot to mention the re-drilling, obviously, But I was aware of it - Ironically enough, it was the fact that it was mentioned so often that I, myself forgot to mention it, d'oh!.

I might make this a project sometime soon then. Thanks guys

*edit* actually... to be clear any reason you can't use 04 STI rear rotors? (since you only mention the fronts)

Rotor hat offset and backspacing is completely different. You can't use a 2004 STI "conversion rotor" either.

I suggest calling Ken...get a status update on those brackets if they even make them anymore. Good peoples. I've always ordered over the phone anyway.

Good info, thanks.

I'm not looking to upgrade the brakes this month but I might give him a call anyway (as if there's a wait it might speed things up )

Would I be correct in assuming no one has done this on stock wheels? I assume that's due to tires limiting our braking greatly... to me it looks like diameter they might barely clear the oe barrel but probably not width....

04 STi front rotors are already 5x100

I'm pretty sure they won't clear the brembos. Not so much the tires but the rim design of the spokes. You would need to try it out and see.

Ken over at KNS Brakes is a great guy who has forgotten more about brakes than most of us will ever know about them!

I've mentioned that numerous times. I said 04 STI rotors OR redrilled 08 STI rotors.

Ah ha! Also 05-12 STi Rotors are the same.

They are actually pretty hard to find.

KNS sells the dual-drilled ones.

Fixed that for you. 04-07 STI rear rotors are different than the 08-12 STI rear rotors. Pretty much everyone sells the DBA dual-drilled rotors.

So am I correct in saying that our hubs are 5x100 and the 08-12 STi hubs are 5x114, meaning that I'd have to buy new rotors anyways?
