Right??
100% correct. That was ridiculous....well Lexus does too on their vehicles, but with some minor updates... unlike this Ej25

Yeah, it seems that nowadays, I dont have enough time to pull of SCCA day anymore, just back road carving, and passing power, with a Sedan X_X
I'd go with the new WRX or wait until the STI gets the new engine. Subaru AWD is damn good and rips through deep snow, assuming you're running good tires. Mine did great with the dogpile of snow we got this year, and I was running all season Potenzas. Only time I had trouble was on solid ice. Even then I dodged an accident by an e-brake tug and some sideways maneuvering onto a side street.

Would somebody please give more input from Subaru AWD vs Infiniti or Lexus AWD ?

It may be 10k more, but take the STI do the tune, upgrades, and you are almost out 10k, without luxury.

STI will hurt ya back to DD it every day, Bumpy pavements = BADDD

Q50 is different, it is in the sweet spots of the two.
I spent $800 for a castles down pipe, axle back exhaust, and tune and made about a 75whp/90wtq jump... Just saying. That setup got me a timed 4.3 second 0-60 run...

Stock intake and Catback are good for nearly 400hp. As is the TMIC. An air filter, down pipe and tune is more than enough for stage 2. Exhaust will net a bit more power and give a different look but that's it.

Stock down pipe is what kills the car. The STI, even the WRX is a bargain considering what you get. They do everything you could want a car to do, and they're fun.

If you want luxury and still want an sti, get the limited and throw some extra sound deadening in it or something, shit. Lol

Well, depends on the Subaru. The automatics with VTD are better than the manual trans equipped cars except for the STI which has LSD front and rear along with that trick center diff. In general the Subaru drivetrain layout itself is superior to any transverse engine AWD layout (e.g. Audi Haldex stuff, but not quattro).

The really high end Audis are probably comparable to the STI layout, but if you've got Audi or Lexus money, why buy a Subaru? Seems like most of the comparisons between older Audis and Subarus are close in real world tests, but I haven't seen any non-roller hill tests comparing STI to Quattro or a higher end Lexus.

I didn't trade up to the 08 hatch because it had excessive sound deadening. The steering also felt vague and had little feedback compared to the 05. Still wish my 05 was a hatch, but it's been a great car otherwise. I'm looking forward to testing out the 2015 if the dealership allows test drives.

I would love to test drive the new 2015 WRX. I have no interest for the STI.

Very Good call. The thing is, the weather in Ohio during the Winter is stupidly Bizarre. That is why I am looking into the Best AWD system available on Sport Sedan. It need to be able to drive well, never easily stuck in the snow, or icy road, or hill climb during winter...

I Exclude all the Germain....because I do never like their Reliability.

I have seen Infiniti Intelligent AWD commercial, but that doesn't say much. I have seen Subaru actions on the footage...looking great.

I've only been stuck in the snow once in my STI and that was this winter. I slid sideways down a grade of ice and went off road. Tried to power out of it sideways and slid up onto a 1' thick pile of ice from the plows. That's a rare event and no AWD vehicle would have made it out of where I got stuck. We had to dig all of the ice out from under the car then get a few tugs from a pickup truck.

I've passed friends coming up my parents' driveway through 1' deep fluffy snow. The car just blows a huge cloud of snow out the sides and powers through it. I had TONS of fun sliding sideways around corners before the ice and negative temperatures kicked on.

WRX drivetrain in a CUV body. Want a 2015 WRX early? Get a 2014 FXT! Though only CVT of course - I've heard the turbo F series engines paired with CVT are actually quite enjoyable.

I'll have to test drive it sometime, since I've heard the same. I hope it's a dramatically different CVT to the one they use on their naturally aspirated outbacks/legacys though, since I really don't like the way that one behaves (I've driven it a fair amount).
