He was very matter of fact about that second account and wasn't trying to be "sneaky". After doing some poking around it seemed he got caught up in another thread and it got a little heated. It could happen to any of us when dealing with a subject of significant concern whether right or wrong.

Still, it is a shame. This and another thread concerning fuel starvation during hard-left cornering were of particular interest to me and I for one really appreciated his contributions.

I just got off the bat phone with gem, and this is the case. He was questioning the vendors product who doesn't have a shop, doesn't have a car, and just got out of school. the vendor took it as an attack and complained to the moderators who then banned gem without any warning.

don't worry though, he will be hitting the Dyno soon and the numbers will be posted. He will also be tracking the car this weekend and independent drivers will be driving his car and posting in his threads their review and keep the threads current.

Thanks for the update!
Quick question and sorry if this had been discussed before (I'm sure it has), how loud was your complete exhaust with the header? Its not that I am overly concerned with daily driver noise, but where I autocross, there is a strict >100db @ 90ft requirement. I am looking at a very similar setup to your with the exception that I have the BC Spec II catback.

Since I don't remember you mentioning you every used an SPL tester, I would only ask if it was any more or less loud than your average Harley Davidson. Those tend to be right around 100db if not a little more.

@CircuitJerk has a similar setup running the SRT catback and the P&L header. It's loud, but not harley loud and the SRT is about as loud as the Spec 2.

LOL, it's loud, that's for sure. I still want to have someone drive it so I can hear it from the outside before I swap out the SRT for the P&L catback.

Just ask someone at the shop next time you are here.

That's far from what happened... lmao. But that's his side to his story, and that guy is so full of himself.

Whether you (and others) think he was full of himself, or not, Gem's experiences have been useful to the community.

I've seen way worse behavior on other forums. I think banning him is a net loss to the community, and a case of over-moderation.

Votes in for Gem to be unbanned!

:P

Can't say myself if it was warranted or not, but after reading "the thread" his posts didn't seem too outrageous. Now if the offensive bits were edited out by the mods, that makes sense, but otherwise I think the ban was definitely unwarranted and I think it hurts the community as Gem was really providing a lot of data to those interested in Vortech.

Like what? What data exactly other than a few dyno plots?

Unless you count fucking up your s/c oil change valuable data?

Or constantly pushing products you've either received for free or discounted?

It's a bit of a coincidence that every product he is 'testing' seems to get amazing reviews and constantly talked about.

We have a word over here in the motherland for such people: Blaggers.

Come on guys, leave Gem alone. There is nothing to be gained by hanging it on him or supporting him now. Hopefully someone will still add some dynos and info on this thread.
