+35 or +45 in the rear????

Mostly a track / weekend car.

Going with 8" wide 17" wheels with 225/45 tires.

+45 in the front.

Would the rear be best with +35 or +45? In other words, will +35 stick out so much as to look silly. Or will I get interference if I change to larger rubber in the future?

The whole rear seems very narrow at stock offsets with 8" wheels.

If it is mostly a weekend/track car as you say, then go +35 front and rear. An 8" +35 is better IMO and still won't stick out too far in the rear or look silly. With a little negative camber up front it will perform well.

That way you can rotate tires front to back.

No interference.

Lowering certainly affects geometry and roll center.
However, I know what you meant; it does not add significant negative camber up front like you see in the rear.

If i decide to go 17"s though my options are 17x8(+40 or +45) and 17x9(+45). If i go the 17's whats the best setup and tyre size selection?

Edit: Will be dropped 1"
Bump for an answer.

Why do you want to stagger the wheels but not stagger the tires?

Im not sure what tyre size to use on the staggered setup. If its easier to go square im happy to do that, just trying to figure out the offsets etc and its melting my brain.

My options are 17x8(+40/+45), 18x8.5(+45), 18x9.5(+45)

So whatever is best using whats available, be that square of staggered. And best tyre fitment.

Ive spent hours and hours trying to work it out myself and its just one of those things ill never "get".

A square 17x8(40 or 45) will work fine.
Recommended tires for OE height:
215/45 f&r or 245/40 f&r
The following are slightly shorter or taller:
225/45, 235/40 or 255/40 f&r.

8.5 (45) front and 9.5 (45) rear would work fine for a staggered fitment.
Recommended tire size:
215/40-18 front 245/35-18 rear
Or
225/40-18 front 255/35-18 rear

Keep in mind these are all personal preference and should be left up to the end user/owner to make such decisions. Please do your own research to determine fitment for your vehicle.

Hey Guys,

Can anyone please confirm if 235/40/18 will be an ideal fit for an 18/8.75/+33 offset (square) without fender modding. I plan on lowering between 1"-1.5".

Thanks

My new wheel setup is on the way, 18x8.5 +35 Front 18x9.5 +30 Rear with 245/35/18 front and 255/35/18 rear. Car is lowered 1 inch, I've done a lot of research and asked a lot of people with experience and I think this is going to fit flush with no rubbing issues or camber adjustment, I'll post pics when they're on next week!

Should not be an issue. I have 235s and my wheels are 9" and +28. I'm not lowered, but if it was going to rub, I would have made it rub by now.

Keep me posted as my rears are 9.5" +27. I plan on throwing 235's out back with my fitment but I push 245s if possible. I'll be quite a bit lower though

I'm thinking about some XXR's and want to go staggered. Looks like 18x9.75 +20 is my only option for the 530's (rears) will that clear with no rubbing? Or will rear fenders be required to roll? Also planning on sitting her down on Sportlines, which are about 1.4" drop all around.
