i built my car for drag/street primarily, so what i do might be different than what you are trying to do. so this is what i experience. being easy on shifts at the track is not an option for me. for the street, yes. i shift very fast going down the track, but i never had a grind, just stripped 3rd and 4th gears. hell, when i had my AVO kit my stock trans had synchro issues and i never even took the car to the track at that point. my last spare trans thats in my car right now (installed a stock clutch and sold my twin disk in anticipation of my auto swap) grinds going into 4th gear, even at low rpms and long shifts with no more than maybe half throttle so i don't burn up the clutch. this trans is from a 10k mile stock car.

overall, its just a trans thats not the greatest out there. there is a multi page thread about cars completely stock grinding/crunching going into gears. its not a rare issue

I'm not a gear banger by any means, shift quickly and smoothly yes, but do not force my gears by any means. Seems like, even for auto cross and daily driving use with occasional w.o.t. driving the gears themselves are at risk. Either way, I'm not concerned about the synchros, I'm more concerned with shearing gears off in 3rd and 4th from what I'm hearing on here. I'm not spending $15k on a full build top to bottom from FBM, to just baby this car, that's for sure. So perhaps I'll just pick up a spare transmission for when the one in it now inevitably goes. I will definitely be reporting on here how things go once the build is installed to let every one know how the stock transmission holds. It's honestly a shame that there aren't any rebuild kits on the market yet to make it stronger

Are you going to upgrade heads in the future? And how is it holding up really strong? Any problems at all? How much hp and torque?

Maybe one day. I'll do ported heads with cams and sleeves in the block so I can run 40psi. I make about 600 right now, closer to 700 with my new turbo and injectors when I tune it again
