I do not need to worry about parking downtown on my car because I got handicapped plates because its still under my dad name. Plus I usually hit the bars right before traffic hits and stay pretty late But I make my friend drive back lol.

Considering for the the LA enthusiasts possibly meeting at the Rosevelt hotel in Hollywod for a big club meet? Like a month after the FRS hits the lots?

When the Expo line is complete all the way to the Westside (or Culver City or wherever the last stop is), I definitely will!

I'd pick MT either way so I'm not really the person to ask.

Your name is a dead giveaway. It might have worked if your name was "lookitsjoe(saphine)." But now I'm always going to read your name as "look, it's slow."

I have a manual now and doing just fine it truly doesn't bother me. I just want to hear everyones opinion.

BTW I heard thru the grape vine that about 75% of First 86's ordered a manual!
Oh man it's even better driving through downtown at 4am with no traffic like I do after work every night. Makes it totally worth driving through shitty traffic with a mt.

Both the Semi-Auto paddle shifter and Standard manual are 6 speeds, and both come standard with Torsen Limited Slip Differentials.

Always curious. Is anyone taking a liking to my Hollywood/LA meet or no?

Going with a manual on this one. From my experience, NA 2.0L engines feel much stronger with a manual, especially from a dead-stop. Also manual is more fun (for me). My GTI has a DSG and even though it's quick, I've been itching for a manual setup lately.

I hear the 6-speed manual is one of the best in this price range, so IHMO, given the substantially taller gearing in the auto and low speed power loss at the torque converter (and the difficulty of maintaining a little wheel spin to do a little tomfoolery every now and then). The only reason I can think of to get the auto is if you or someone you know that is going to drive the car doesn't know how to drive stick.

And given the quality of the transmission, this MAY be a great car to learn on.
