It has less filtering area then stock hence very probably filters insufficiently or is too resistive, it takes hot air in unlike stock, which is CAI. And it's not carb legal like stock. And it costs money to change intake to worse. All checkboxes set, win-win i'd say

No, No, Yes, Yes, No

HKS kit is very good if you have a vented hood/side fin. properly engineered piece.

So is the TRD intake for sale? Seemed appropriate.

ha! good question, you made me think...

I have to admit now that its been a few hundred kms, Its starting to sound more pleasing to the ear... I didn't wait the standard "1 tank of gas" rule after adding on a new mod before jumping to a conclusion...

Run up past 4k rpm, the sound under the hood overtakes the exhaust (TRD) and it resonates nicely. My ear is noticing the difference over the artificially enhanced sound tube'

So to answer the question -Imma hold onto it for now. Ordering a CNT UEL in a few weeks then will reflash to OFT Stage 2...

and then drive it 1 tank of gas before making any judgments

Best is subjective. Anyway, I have the Airaid intake that I got from Cold Air Intakes|4WO. I like the sound of it. Loud yet not annoying.

Good question. It must be on the Airbox as the AVO kit normally uses the OEM Airbox.
