BRZ sounding like a Subaru

Curious on this topic. I have a 07 STi and am fully aware of the boxer rumble, so my question is does the BRZ sound this way stock? I assumed it came with UEL headers as well and would have the rumble, is this not the case? I keep seeing posts saying my BRZ sounds like a scoob now. So just curious

I don't really hear that boxer rumble, despite people saying that they do. And I used to own a WRX. Maybe I'm getting too old and losing my hearing.

After doing the Motiv test-pipe and T1R 70R my FR-S is a little more rumbly.

Perhaps, but I think the question was does it sound like an turbo EJ25 with an exhaust... which it does not.

You can feel a bit of rumble at 2k rpm to 3k rpm. The stock exhaust is VERY quiet and there is nothing "Subaru" about the sound.

There are some UEL in development. AVO has one for their turbo. Borla has one but it's for racing and will not pass emissions. It's not street legal.

The best quality and performing exhaust is the one made by Supersprint. The gains in HP and TQ are amazing. Pay special attention to the TQ dip. And the sound is amazing.
They are making their own header too but no UEL. Still the thing is amazing and when released soon it will be pricey.

Isn't the rumble caused by the turbo?

I know my legacy 2.5gt has a faint rumble for a stock car. My BRZ does not

Turbo has nothing to do with it. The unequal exhaust manifolds give it the rumble.

The BRZ has ELH, but thw WRX and STi have ULH which give it that boxer rumble. Some exhausts give it a nice sound, but you're not going to get that sound unless you swap for ULH which will probably make you lose a few hp.

the BRZ/FRS does NOT have ELH. it was measured by crawford performance I believe, do some search. eventhough they are slightly ULH they don't sound anything like the wrx because the Unequal length is not as significant. this car sound common!

Avo's turbo kit takes care of this but it still doesn't sound like a signature Subaru.

All you need to do is get a better muffler to get that accentuated boxer sound. Its rather quiet stock.
