Currently running ENEOS Sustina 0W20. I'll be picking up the same motor oil when the next oil change is due.

FWIW: I went to my Toyota/Scion dealer to get Toyota motor oil for my FR-s, the parts man said they only have bulk oil for the service department and don't sell oil by the quart. He said Toyota recommends Mobil 1 for all of their cars, including the FR-s. If the dealer is recommending Mobil 1 I would have to believe them, I guess.

I still stay away from Mobil 1. Have seen few EJ20s/EJ25Ts with spun bearings after using it, maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Anyways, I have been using the Eneos Sustina 0w20, but I am switching back to the 0w30 Miller Nanodrive since I have a few liters of it left and it's too expensive to just throw out.

I think it's just new packaging. They decided to go black instead of gold. Other than that, there's probably no difference. The bottle bought and tested by PQIA last year was gold as shown on their site.

I picked up the black jug/bottle in store at Walmart, and it does have the Titanium label without the word Syntec on the front (on the back, it does say "Formerly Syntec").

I may give Pennzoil Platinum PurePlus a try the next time (made from natural gas certainly sounds interesting). They did certify it for API SN and ILSAC GF-5, but it seems that they didn't certify it for ACEA...

Ive been doing more research into it, and apparently a lot of people blame the HTHS rating, which is another method to rate viscosity at the most critical high temp areas, like bearings under load. I believe German Castrol has a 0w30 but it actually operates more like a 10w40 or something because it's HTHS is so much higher. The consensus seems to be higher is better, but it also means the oil is thicker, which means less efficiency and less power. The bigger consensus is for a daily driven car, use what's specified by the mfg, including HTHS ratings. Most synthetic 0w20s fall around 2.6-2.9 it would seem. If you're boosted or run at the track a lot, the constant high heat and high load would warrant a thicker oil with a higher HTHS rating, also an oil cooler. That may be a 5w20, 0w30, or even a 0w20 from another brand.

This would make sense why a lot of people on nasioc were blaming Mobil 1 (again I feel largely because it's so popular/common) and people are modding like crazy making the engine produce huge power with just an exhaust and flash to hit 300whp (nearly 400chp). Maybe 5w30 was a little thin to begin with, but you boost the power by 30% and of course you might have issues without addressing the oil.

Winner, winner chicken dinner!

Yes, Mobil1 is the most popular synthetic oil in the world by sales. So many knucklehead WRX and STI owner's modify their cars, don't check their oil levels, get a bad tune, and BAM! "MoBILe 1 sUx cuZ mY EnJUn bLOWEd up usINg iT"! And some continue to use 5W-30 "because it's on the cap", even after modding their engines. Low HTHS GF5 5W30 oils are designed to shear for the best fuel economy.

But as uoa's here have shown, the factory recommended GF5 0W20 from any brand does well in a LOT of conditions (excluding modded cars or track conditions).

Mobil 1 0W-20
The fall 2014 rebate is back.
Currently Walmart is the lowest retailer for a 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Motor Oil (various weights) at $26.68 - $12 rebate = $14.68 + tax.
Walmart, like the last rebate, is not listed under participating locations but I had no problem before getting the $24. rebate purchasing from Walmart.

Promo: https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mo...nd-mobil-super

Rebate form: https://apfco.net/secure/R8235W/Content/OfferForm.pdf

Online rebate form: https://apfco.net/secure/R8235W/Home/Entry After you submit one rebate it will ask you if you want to submit another.
Link through Discover to Walmart, buy online, and get 5% cash back, free pickup at store.

Pretty interesting comparison of 4 different oils(all 5W30), that were cooled down to -40C over night.
