To the guys using hot water...

DON'T. I can't stress this enough, DO NOT USE HOT WATER ON AN ICE COLD CAR. This will promote clearcoat seperation and youll end up with peeling clear coat. Also, glass can crack due do extreme temperature difference.

Using a brush to remove snow from your vehicle in any manner is a recipe for paint disaster. Your surface is most likely dirty and the brush is abrasive (no matter how soft).

It's illegal here in NY, also which can be hazardous to motorists behind the vehicle with snow on the roof.

yeah guys I'm just going to use my hands and try and take most off… i have a CF hood with a pretty nice clear coat on it and its literally impossible to see swirls in it lol the trunk ill leave since it won't affect my driving

Good suggestion with the Snow Brum, just last night my friend, trying to be helpful, went to brush snow off of my hood and I about cringed. Hadn't thought of about something like this until now.

I had to SPECIFICALLY sit down with my entire house and tell them that no matter how generous there feeling, to not wipe the snow of my car.

I thought of that was well but it was already too late, LOL
I saw my mom in the morning, and I was like "Oh, and don't worry about cleaning the snow off my car!" She responded with "Ok, I won't do it next time." I checked it later with a flashlight - marring EVERYWHERE!

Nothing a detail job can't fix I suppose. Next winter, I'm plastidipping the hood, roof and trunk, and not hafta worry about the brush!

What do you do if you have a large SUV, a Van or a Large Semi Truck & Trailer? I can't see how it would be possible for these people/drivers to be expected to get on their roof to clear it prior to driving? And Semis, Cube Vans and Buses are libel to unleash some heavier/larger chucks of snow/ice then a car would. Anyone know what they do for these vehicles?

Bought a Snow Joe at Walmart. Haven't tried it yet since the snow is frozen on my BRZ.

If you can't maintain and clean your vehicle you shouldn't fucking drive it. A 4'10 woman probably can't clean off a sedan, does that excuse her?

It really isn't that hard just use a brush but don't go all the way to the surface. If you are driving your baby in shit weather try not to be so worried about a few swirls. You are introducing worse by driving on slush, salt, ice, snow, broken pavement.
