Why did jeff talk you out of the floating hats?

I check the hats, rotors/etc for cracks around the hat's all the time and nothing yet (I don't expect to honestly but I check everything brake related between sessions anyways).

Wilwood use to be king of the short track stuff but guys replaced parts often. They may be using stronger alloys now, not sure. The ex-Brembo guys I know no longer work in the industry.

Any of these brakes probably hold up fine for your average FT86er

More or less that I wouldn't need it. He's been right so far

My only concern with the wilwood setup is the number of track pad choices are very limited for this caliper unlike the APs? Or am I missing something?

Same pad shape assuming these use the superlite shape so pad selection should be identical. The caliper Essex uses was designed to replace the wilwood superlite for the circle track guys who wanted a stiffer caliper.

I'm diggin this setup... My car will see very little track time but the brakes still need an upgrade to be on par with the rest of the car. I was looking at WRX STi factory Brembos but this kit has my attention. Thanks for all the info!!

looks good! How much does the brake caliper sit past the rotor hat?

I weighed the stock wheel and tire at 41 Lbs

Too late for DIY, but will do a review once it is broken in. The Wilwood came with great instructions. The APR is straight forward.
Is this the kit that the factory wheels fit?

I would gladly sell you a factory Brembo setup for cheaper than one side of this Wilwood kit.

Looks great behind the TE37s! Glad to see they cleared without needing spacers like the Brembo kit has in the past. Nicely done!
