ive got my 10 series for about a month now, with almost 1000 miles on it. I've been putting gas with 10% ethanol (cuz thats all they have here in richmond, VA apparently) but I have not gotten the crickets yet. Is the crickets more the exception than the rule?

Yes I've heard them on couple of occasions, but next few times I will drive nothing. Guess it depends on weather, how long I've been driving. They have been non existent more than I've noticed. Still using strictly Shell 91 non-ethanol.

Once my first check up comes ill bring it up if they get worse, along with the spot weld ticking/popping that has been getting worse at rear shelf panel. Anyone know if BRZ TSBs work hand in band with Scion?

The silver carbon dash is just an overlay?? What's under it? The regular FRS dash?

At first, it sounded like a knock under 1200 rpm. Now its just crickets coming from the fuel pump. Dam man, Toyota/Subaru needs to get their shit together. They have had more than a year since launch to fix these things. My rear deck hasn't popped yet but it rattles like a mofo.

My rear deck rattles a bit from the passenger side. I haven't figured out where thats coming from yet. I got the crickets, BUT knock on wood, I had them replace the fuel pump about 600 mi ago and it hasn't come back (mine started at 200 mi, and replaced it around 1200 mi). I've been using 92 E10, because that's what they have here in Hawaii.

Check out this thread.
Read Decking Popping/Click

Has a lot of information on possible means for rattle or popping. If it is audible clicking/tapping that occurs usually after 2000 miles, occurs when rear shelf panel bends/twists over uneven surfaces or bumps it is likely the spotwelding issues. Apparently this is bound to happen on all GT86/FRS/BRZ's made due to spotwelding techniques. There is a Subaru TSB in the link above or it can be found in the TSB section on the forum. Either they punch the welds, get it re-welded, or they follow a technique similar to the thread I will attach below for DIY where you insert grease into the areas to eliminate the popping heard from sheet metal rubbing together. Some dealers have a noise locator which will find exact location of where clicks are coming from.

DIY Rear Deck Popping

I guess it all depends on if you have warranty and your dealer with do Subaru TSB or if you'd rather remove the rear shelf panel carpet and do it yourself. Half of the spotwelds can be accessed via the trunk.

I ask because I like the five axis spoiler a lot, but if the series 10 already comes with a spoiler, it kind of ruins it a bit for me... another one to buy, paint and install.

Then there is 5axis which can be factory matches and easy install. Not really a fan of the Scion OEM spoiler but it is growing on me after seeing some of your guys/gals photos.

On another note I saw a thread that the 2014 FR-S is getting knee pads. Might wait out to see if these are cheaper to order via your dealer than JDM option. Jpmcoachworks currently doesn't have simulated leather speaker surrounds as option (possible mistake on website)
