If anyone catches this comment and wants to chime in for me as well, I'd be happy, just looking for a little help.
I'm just looking for something that changes the tone but importantly still quiet at slow cruising rpms. Basically the car's a DD most of the time so something quiet down low would be great. Without going active which isn't a common route anyways. Not chasing any gains or too much noise gain just a tone change. Doesn't matter axle or catback either. The biggest challenge is that there's so many options out there and sound over video just doesn't translate well. Pretty much all cameras auto level sound. I'm still doing my research but actual experiences beats research. As for engine drivetrain, it's stock. EDIT: Below thanks. I didn't look too hard at them because haven't met anyone with it yet and they sounded loud in videos. But yeah, if that's the consensus, I think that's good enough for me. IMO, the most important thing is to look for something with a resonator. my MXP catback is pretty quiet to the point where I barely hear it at idle with the windows down (can't hear it at all with the windows up) and when you get on the gas, you can definitely hear the deep sounding tone. I don't know what you classify as quiet though, but I think the MXP is pretty quiet that it doesn't annoy you. my old MR2 had a berk exhaust and that thing would drone pretty bad on the freeway, not to mention that it didn't have AC so I had windows down most of the time and had to deal with wind noise on top lol
perrin and invidia are both good brands to go for in terms of quietness

CSG and ACE are co developing an axleback that is quieter than all exhausts currently out there.
The problem with the stock axle back is the baffles rattle and vibrate like crazy when you delete all cats in the exhaust system and this causes horrible noises. The ACE muffler will solve this issue.

Here's the best of both worlds, take the stock muffler slice it open, cut off all the tubing inside and seal back up, frees up flow and retain a quiet but noticeable improvement with little out of pocket

Use sound deadening material on the inside of your doors.
