I turn them all off, hold traction control button down for 5 seconds, first thing after I start up the car every time. I live in the Pacific NW, and granted just getting the car earlier this summer, I haven't had it in the rain very much yet but simple throttle control keeps this car exactly where you want it until you tell it otherwise. Haven't hydroplaned yet tho, that might change things up a bit.

i turn them all off as soon as i start the car. the vsc sport still interferes too much for me.
Plus you never know when there will be an opportune drift moment and you can't spare 5 sec to turn off the systems.

I read somewhere that a dealership denied warranty due to the "pedal dance" Ill try to find that read.

As for pedal dance = dealer issues, that is pure BS unless you are trying to warranty clutch, tires, differential, axle, or other engine issues that may be associated with car abuse. Pedal dance or not, that is a DIAGNOSTIC MODE for a service tech to road test a car. -alex |

Seemed like CSG's testing pointed to the trail braking and lifting a wheel being the two cases where the trac-hold stepped in, shouldn't be any wheel lift while drifting. |

I leave all the nannies on when I do aggressive canyon carving and I still have a great time. *shrug*

I've run into issues with 5 sec trac off as well for some maneuvers. I'm starting to get annoyed enough to look into that box that replaces the need to do the whole pedal dance out of laziness

I've read somewhere, that when car is not fully warmed up it will save you even with TRC fully off.

Even if you leave all controls on(no buttons pressed), you can still slide the rear out. Well i can on my brz and its pretty fun, esp in the rain

If you live up in the north:
I personally keep in is VSC sport the whole time. But disable your traction control when you leave the line, only way to get moving in the snow/ ice. Basically, press right button when you get in car. Hold both down for a few seconds for track. Press just the left one for snow/ ice. The left button will disable or switch it back to normal after a few seconds/ over 50kmh. I try to keep them off at all times. The car communicates so well, doesn't snap or anything. |
