Lowering by 0.8" has not presented any new issues with clearance.

I only drove about a week with the Yellow's before any other changes to suspension - the rear end is way better on the '13 rear dampers (less rodeo bucking bull feeling).

It hasn't really lost it, but it has changed the way that it's balanced. Just different strokes for different folks.
So the TRD springs do keep the same tail happy characteristics as the stock springs?

I don't have them, but from what I've heard they do.

Also, if you look at the spring rates it would seem to indicate that as well. (significant different between F/R rates, with a bias towards stiffer rates in the rear)

An even more simplistic way to look at it, if Toyota wanted to create a specific driving style for the car they would likely want to improve upon but maintain those characteristics with any factory performance options.

So the drop on both is pretty close. Any reason why the racecomp yellows cost more than the trd springs? Material or build quality perhaps?

Because they're a proprietary custom build for RCE. Economy of scale.

They're springs, pretty basic in terms of build. Note that RCE doesn't fabricate their springs - they are made by Eibach in accordance to RCE's design specifications

What do you mean by that? Like the springs were designed and built just for the frs/brz?

Ok well im getting the vibe that most people here prefer the rce yellows over the trd springs...would i be wrong in assuming that? Lol

hmm, never saw the trd springs in person but i assumed that if they were rebadged prokits theyd match as,the prokits are for sure just solid black. as far as eibach's literature states, they're designed to work with stock struts.

Both springs are designed specifically for this car. It takes into account the OEM sizing for the shock, weight of the car, suspension travel, etc.

There are a lot of people who go for the RCE yellows as it is a modest drop and keeps the balance and feel of the car. RCE also participates in this forum and provides insightful recommendations on user setups. There is no Eibach/TRD presence here AFAIK.

By the feel of it, it doesn't sound like you're into autocross, however, the TRD springs would be a "factory option", which helps with getting an edge on others in your own class

Get RCE yellows. Just because it's made by Race Comp Engineering. No other reason needed.

I have the RCE Yellows and they're great. I started doing Autocross this year and feel they have helped a lot. They're pretty firm, but not too stiff for daily driving. I do kind of wish they were lower, but I went for function over form.

I also really like my RCE yellows. I had the RCE sway bars installed first and it was a bit too tail happy with the stock FRS springs. After adding RCE yellows, I can get on the throttle much earlier without worrying about the rear. Then I added Bilstein B8s and cascam plates and I love it even more.

That's just it. They don't have to.
