TRD Spring vs RCE Yellow Springs
Hey guys stuck between these 2 springs. So here are a few of my questions.
1) Which one has a lesser drop? will be using for daily driving so don't really want something too low. 2) Which will be better for my stock struts in the long run? 3) Which gives better handling and performance and will still keep a comfortable ride? Thanks everyone and pics of these springs on your car will be highly appreciated! :thanks: |
Im pretty sure the TRD springs have a 1 inch drop.
And the US TRD springs are pretty much re branded Eibach springs, or at least that's what i've read. |

Like mentioned above. TRD Springs are essentially re-branded Eibach Pro-Kit. So it's Eibach Pro-kit vs RaceComp Yellow.
RaceComp Yellow F - 0.8" drop - 4.5k rate R - 0.8" drop - 4.5k rate Eibach Pro-Kit/TRD Springs F - 1.0" drop - 3.6k rate R - 1.0" drop - 4.9k rate RaceComp Yellow http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1346437486 Eibach Pro-Kit/TRD Springs http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/22/eqery9eq.jpg |
Ok so the racecomp yellows would be better for my daily driving since its a lesser drop. What does the 4.5k rate mean? Also will these lowering springs be ok on my stock struts? I hear a lot of people have trouble with that when they lower there car

If you read the RCE Yellow description, the springs were designed for use with stock struts. FYI I've been running the RCE Yellows for about 25,000 km. |
I ran RCE Yellows for about 25000 kms as well. I just recently upgraded to their Tarmac 0 coilovers. I was very happy with the RCE Yellows, I think they're a perfect match for the stock dampers / suspension geometry. I was worried the front would feel too stiff, but it didn't at all. The only reason I wanted to upgrade was I found the stock dampers to be lacking, I strongly considered using Bilstein B6s, but I liked Yellows so much I decided to stay with the same suspension company.

I'm running prokits now and the drop looks perfect to me, though as a few threads about them have said, it's probably closer to a 7/8 inch drop. the ride and handling are still great but you definitely feel bumps and road imperfections a bit more than with stock.
also, for whatever it might be worth the prokits/trr are black so less noticeable and also because they install them on frs as a factory option whatever minute chance that dealers might be a little more warranty friendly in case of a suspension issue in the future it seemed like the ever slightly safer choice. |
I have had RCE yellows on my car for 6000km and have zero complaints so far. Combined with some front end camber, the car feels very well balanced and planted.

I have the TRD springs on my BRZ and I don't like them as I feel I lost a lot of balance.
