I ordered my Ultramarine 6MT FR-S mid-April. If it wasn't for the rail strike, I might have had it this week. It sat in port for quite a while, and has been on the rails now for a week or so. I expect to be able to pick it up in the next week or two. This is from a dealer in the GTA.
For anyone in Southern Ontario who simply can't wait, there is a Firestorm 6AT sitting in stock and for sale at Kingston Toyota/Scion. The salesman I spoke to is Rob Matheson. |

You also were expecting a June 1st delivery and probably got it the 8th, where as I was told the 8th, and it's now the 15th. It seems consistent, every dealership got 1 car for themselves and 1 for the first customer. From what I hear 2 more should be arriving today which sucks coz I was actually the 4th to buy at the dealership. Just doesn't make sense, If it is the owners manual just come out and say it. I don't care to wait, Just want to know why instead of he hearing "IDK, and No news" all the time

Not sure if you were told about the legal issue with the documentation (the car's manual) but due to some of the wording in the manual they had to do a stop sell on all of the cars. That is why they were being held at the port. This issue was recently resolved (this past week I think) and anyone who has received their car was mailed out (IIRC from another thread) stickers with the corrections to the manual. Think this just happened this past week and they should have updated all the cars in the port and be shipping them soon from the general understanding of the issue. I know my local dealer said they had 3 or 4 cars with 3 more on the way. All of which spoken for with exception to the test driver they're holding on to. On top of that, ordering a car is not a fast process. Especially if you want a specific colour, transmission, or trim(not really pertaining to Scion), but it can take a couple months in some cases. You're not ordering a movie, game or book off of amazon, ebay, or what have you. EDIT: Couldn't find the exact thread I saw this in but this one shows the kit that was handed out to those who got the recall (those who got the car before the stop sell) http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ghlight=recall

The problem is, SCION is allowing dealers to tag the cars "retail - sold" while at port, if they've had a deposit placed on them. They can remain on hold until AUGUST! They are waiting a long time for some buyers deals to close, financing to be obtained, etc. Cars marked as "retail - sold" should make there way to the dealer within a week, but if the dealer hasn't ordered them brought in (which costs money) they are just leaving their hold tag on them, waiting for the next deal.
I walked in on Monday, the 4th of June and had mine by Friday the 8th I was getting so antsy, even in that short time, I called a few other dealers and gave them my name and number in case they had deals fall through (all cars of course already spoken for) Friday afternoon I got calls from two other dealerships that had cars for me because deals fell through. In talking to those other dealers though, I was told that SCION will rush customer orders, at the request of a customer (rush it through port delivery i mean) but not at the request of a dealer. More than one dealer said.. call Scion, tell them you have your deposit down and are waiting, and you know your car is at port. |

I put down my deposit on mid March, was suppose to be ready late may however due to either the manual issue or cp rail strike didn't give me a exact explanation. Pick up on the 6th of June.
