FR-S wait times in Canada
Was curious if anyone else has been waiting awhile to receive their fr-s? I ordered my Raven MT May 7th, and there's still no idea when my car will be in:brokenheart:. All I've been told all the cars are just sitting in Vancouver waiting for delivery.
Anyone else waiting this long? or is it just my dealer?:mad0259: If the cars already in Canada ship the damn thing!! |
Sorry to hear that you are still waiting. lol luck me.
Here in Vancouver, the FR-S has been in dealer lots since June 1st. The dealer told me that the FR-S is only going to be in the port for a few of weeks before they are all gone. And that was 2 weeks ago. So I think or hope they are already on there way to the other regions in Canada, my dealer is pretty accurate with times. The wait is coming to an end, hold on. Mean while :happy0180: |
I ordered mine around same time as you, expected time is around end of june/beginning july.
|
I ordered in early June and was warned that it might take until late July or even August. Subsequent conversations with other dealerships about these timelines have elicited their response: "If you're lucky."
|
I ordered mine in mid March...Still no word on the car yet. When I call back to the sales rep, he kept reassuring me that the car is tied down for me. :iono:

im awaiting a reply from Scion Canada at the moment to see what they will have to say, i have a thread in the Regional forums,
I actually went on Scion Canada Facebook page and posted on there wall about the wait times and how dealers have no straight answers. I will let you guys know what they have to say. Good news being they did reply to me with in 24 hours so its so far been a good sign. |
I put down a deposit on May 19th for a ultramarine fr-s. Was given the VIN right away, and was told that on the computer that the car was "on sea" - i.e. on a boat between Japan and Vancouver.
2 weeks later, was given an ETA of June 8th. June 8th came and went, with no sign of the car. Since June 11th, dealer has told me that according to his system my fr-s is on a train still, with no known ETA. Will get another update from the dealer tomorrow. |
Reserved mine in march, so my dealer was able to precisely order an ultramarine with MT. The car was supposed to come in may 25th, but due to the CP train shutdown I got it 2 weeks later.
Sorry you are still waiting! |
You're not the only one. I ordered mine around the same time (early May) and have been told it will be here early July. It feels like it has been 3 months since I put in that damn order!
|
I was first on the list at my dealership, I picked mine up on the 8th. Considering I'm in the second last Provence from vancouver I can't see why you would still be waiting.
|
I was the first one to order a fr-s from my dealership.
Original ETA was june 9th. I am still waiting. I work in logistics, and this is without a doubt one the worst product market-roll-out I have ever seen. It's the lack of information that infuriates me the most. |
similar problem to what we have in Australia. The US had a great idea with "the first 86" and seemed like that went well. Our Toyota website hasnt even updated with its price yet, or model details or launch day. piss poor effort

It seems that after the owner's manual snafu was fixed, Scion Canada sent out a couple of cars to each dealer. One as a demo unit, one typically for the person who was first in the dealer's pre-order line (some exceptions). Basically wanting to cover the whole country, but very thinly.
Since then, additional units have been rather slow in coming. The CP Rail strike didn't help. Two dealers in Ottawa have received their second cars. Mine has not but it should be coming in very soon (I ordered in early May). The way the dealer orders units from Scion seems a little odd, at least from an outsider's perspective. Simply having a signed deal with a customer is not enough. Cars are distributed amongst dealers according to some formula, I suppose to be "fair" to all dealers, although it doesn't seem that way when we're anxiously waiting for our car to arrive. For example, I know my dealer wants to push my car through very quickly when it arrives so he can submit his next order. He's trying to satisfy his next customer in line as best as he can, but the system he's working under appears to be holding him back somewhat. |
Already got mine but I preordered in November of last year.
