OEM Idemitsu, for me. Oil analysis other members have done have shown it to be very good stuff.

Yeah give it s shot, just keep an eye on oil consumption, that's really the only problem you can have with a modern synthetic under normal conditions, but its not necessarily the oil's fault.

Amsoil 0W-20 Signature for the street and short track or autocross. I switch to Amsoil 0W-30 Signature for longer/faster tracks.

I seem to recall that the "other" manufacturer of boxer engines (Porsche) recommends Mobil1 as the oil of choice for its boxer engines. I have no concerns about using it in the BRZ. |

my car consumed a little bit of oil running idemitsu 0w-20. after running that for 6k miles i switched to mobil1 0w-20 AFE. not for the AFE part, but because flash point, and IIRC HTHS levels are higher in mobil1 than idemitsu 0w-20. its been 7k miles and my car no longer consumes oil since switching... maybe it has something to do with the flash point?

Same deal as what wheelhaus said. I used to run Mobil1 in my wrx swapped GC a ways back. People said the EJ didn't like that oil. However from what I remember this problem originally stemmed from the guys with the version 3-6 STI engines in their swapped GC's. for whatever reason there was some correlation to spun rods and Mobil 1 oil in the JDM STI motor. However those motors were never terribly reliable in the first place haha Shouldn't matter which one you go for now I'm currently running 5w-20 Mobil 1 synthetic in my BRZ right now but I'm going to go back to 0w-20, found a good deal for some royal purple. Love that purp
