I have the craziest idea. Post another thread in the Forced Induction forum where you will get much better engine recommendations.

Because a lot of people want more power and this can be quite possibly another alturnitive way to gain that power.
EJ25's are inferior compared to the FA20, worst possible engine to swap into an 86.

The FA20DIT (2015 WRX, JDM Legacy GT, etc) is an interesting thought, but the starter is on the wrong side to work with our gearbox. You would have to use an NA block and the rest of the parts from the turbo engine. If you're going to that much trouble, there are far better options than factory internals.

If this is a "go big or go home" thing, drop in a Carrera 3.6tt. That way you'd still have a boxer engine. Then put an EvoMS GT700 kit on it. 660 hp at the wheels should be enough.

Or if you want to stay NA, a 3.8 from a 997.2 GT3. Then put a Sharkwerks/EvoMS 4.1 stroker kit into it. 540 isn't as good as 660, but it's 540 NA.

Either of them will have a better exhaust note than the OEM engine, too.

didn't they already do this on one of the factory-backed FRS/BRZ drift cars, then give up on it after one season because it sucked?

A Wood?!?!? WTF? Troll!
