Unfortunately I park outside at work.

I used to put a wrist band on mine so the shift pattern wouldn't be branded on my palm. But it'd still be a little hot.

I might give this one a chance because its the first I've seen that is weighted, good for temperature and it looks clean.

Hrmmm...
Copolymer is kind of a slightly lower grade Delrin. Short for acetyl copolymer (we use stuff with the trade name Acetron at work). Delrin is the trade name for acetyl mono (or homo? Serious) polymer. Stronger and more chemical resistant. Naturally it's just white nice to machine plastic.

So how would this compare to something like this?

Made of Derlin and is only $40.

I believe the threads are the same as other Subarus. I'll try to remember to ee if this one will fit my STI.

However, the big issue is the reverse lockout ring. If you look at the last picture, you'll see that the threads are recessed into the knob with a wide inset. The reverse lockout ring pulls up into the recess when you want to shift into reverse. If a replacement knob extends below he threads and doesn't have that you won't be able to put your car in reverse.

If the BRZ uses Subaru threads and not Toyota threads this could work. But does it have a brass insert to keep the threads from pulling out? And how will it age?

I like to stick with stuff I have confidence in.

The rest of it has arrived! Because it's Memorial day there are no techs to do the PDI, but I'm going to go take a peek at it today. I hope to drive it home tomorrow! WOOT!

I was so worried when the dealership across town got theirs last week and then someone in Pittsburg got one also.

A couple teaser photos. It hasn't been PDI'd or cleaned yet. But even dirty, it looked SO good in black!

The white thing on the bumper is a note taped in place that says DO NOT DRILL!

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to sleep tonight.

It felt so good to sit in. The clutch is a bit light for my taste, but we'll see what it's like once broken in.

I will. I want to do a journal thread once I have it in hand.

The guys at the dealership stayed a little late tonight and we put all the numbers together. I don't see any issues, so I should be driving it home after work tomorrow!

Now, do I put the shift knob on before I leave the dealership, or when I get home?

Nice! I decided to order the WC poly knob in white! Just picked up my raven FR-S today, can't wait for the knob to come in!

thank you...and I believe some one here said it fits the STI but the threads on the BRZ is longer where it only goes half way...is that true?
