Ugh...jeez the older Charger/300 interiors are ghastly...

When I did the SRT8 Experience (racing day) they were new (2012-2013) and they were kinda nice.

One other car to consider...
The Mercury Marauder

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Marauder"]Mercury Marauder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Just trying to give you an alt...something big and fast...

But yeah the Audi had a sharp interior. BTW I liked the lighting at night INSIDE that car. You will see what I am talking about.

The fact you have a Silver/Black Top AW-11 make me jealous...and I know you have good taste in cars >

The RS6 is a great car, but timing belt maintenance means pulling the engine. And apparently that needs to be done every 35k. Fine if you can DIY, if not it's probably about 1500+ at an independent shop or 3k+ at a dealer.
Where does it say you hafta pull the motor? The front bumper comes off; pulling the engine sounds unnecessary. I have a friend who is a Porsche/Audi master tech so if I can't DIY, he can. I used to work at an Audi dealer so I still have connections there, too.

The Marauder is cool but it's automatic too and the interior still looks like a plastic factory.

I believe you're right. I went back to check and realized I was thinking S4/RS4 and all of its goddamn chains. My bad.

However, this may come in handy some day if you go this route.

If you want understated luxo rocket, why not get a Legacy GT spec B? It won't be as fast out of the box as the others that have been mentioned but its basically a WRX/STI underneath so getting more speed out of it is easily done.

I too went through this phase.

It's something we all must do for ourselves.

The hardest part is watching others go through it.

I considered it. They are a nice car. The only one I could find for sale locally the owner was asking stupid money for it, though.

Ohhhhh

Since you are an AW-11 fan like me...you may want to consider an IS300.

Manuals can be had...and mileage is not really a big deal for that engine. It can be turned into a sstupid fast little 4-door.

Also, there was the bigger Lexus from that time period GS400.

Those have nice interiors (unsure about 5 Speed in the GS400).

Like I said...us AW-11 lovers gotta stick together; even though I sold both of mine...

Lexus does nothing to excite me, friend. Even though the IS and GS have no Toyota version in the U.S. I still would feel like I was driving a gussied up Toyota. Only the new new Lexus cars really differentiate themselves from their Toyota cousins.

And I don't wanna hear any crap from anyone about VW/Audi platform sharing, as the C5 A6/S6/RS 6 chassis does not have a VW counterpart! Only the A4/Passat, A3/TT/Golf/Jetta/Beetle, and A8/Phaeton were shared in 2003. There certainly weren't any VW's built at Audi's Quattro GmbH facility in Neckarsulm or running around with a 4.2L biturbo V8.

I'm half considering getting the heat fixed in my MR2, raising the coilovers to max height, throwing snow tires and mudflaps on it, and making a rally/snow beater out of it! As of right now it's just sitting around collecting dust

You ever hang out on the MR2 forums?

328FTW did rally racing in his AW11 and actually had a "mudder" AW-11. So I think it can be done. (can prolly find his build over there...he is good about providing pics if you ask him)

And my big secret...I will eventually buy a used AW11 again when I move and have a bigger garage to mess with it. Loved my 2 deuces.

Oh, about Lexus...I always liked the IS300 and have come close to buying those. The GS400 is fun too...but for the most part...I always felt the smart money was just on a Corolla a Camry or a Avalon if a 4-door 'Yota was your thing (or of course a 4 Runnner or Land Cruiser)

Well fellas, I did it! Took the train down to Bernardsville, NJ and purchased a pristine Daytona Gray RS 6 from Audi of Bernardsville. 68,000 miles, two owners, both of which serviced it at that dealer its whole life. Complete service records in the glove box. Timing belt just done 500 miles ago. Optional navigation and sound-enhancing exhaust with matte black tips. I'm very pleased!
