I think it has something to do with the size of the condenser on this car + the power of the fans cooling them off.

Back from the dead. I live in Miami. When I went out to drive today the dash read 95 degrees outside. Car sitting in Sun with 20% tints all around except windshield which has 80%. Takes a long time to get the air cold while idling. I usually wait outside car for a minutes in cases like this to let some of the heat out. Once driving it takes a few minutes to get cool and then of course cycles off compressor under moderate to strong acceleration. Worth asking dealer about it when in for fuel pump tomorrow?
