weak paint on bumper

so i got new emblems in from carson toyota and was using my rubber eraser wheel on the front bumper where the scion badge had its adhesive, and i ripped the paint of very easily also, i have knicked the rear bumper with anoter piece of plastic! litteraly dropped a tupper wear bowl against it and it pealed the paint off. Im definatley going to to repaint the front but dam plastic!

worst part is ive done autobody for a 7 years now never had a problem with an eraser wheel except for on fresh paint ie: less that 30 day old paint

Nevvvvvvver use an eraser wheel on a bumper. They make a special tool for bumpers. Its layers of things like the material of the rubber wheel. Rubber heating up plastic = paint chipping. I learned this first hand on my FRS bc the same happened to my emblems. Make sure the painters blend a large area bc its, pearl. Pearl has to be blended further or else color won't match. I went through the same problem you are a couple weeks ago. Blend the whole bumper, not just part. Trust me lol

Thats what I did and my color didn't match. The painter at my shop who fixed it explained to me that if it was just plain white, that wouldn't be a problem. But pearl is tricky. You can chance it, but theres a 70/30 shot it won't match I regret not doing it that way the first time so just trying to help you out lol
