Have you scheduled a time to take the car in to get this stuff installed? I bought a KARR alarm with my FRS, and they scheduled a time for me to drop the car off (also got window tint) and they did the alarm install for free, since it was already billed in the finance of the vehicle, and all I paid for was the tint.

This looks like you bought dealer accessories (ie stuff not installed at the factory) and are now complaining that they aren't there, while the dealership is telling you that you have to bring the car in to have them installed. If they bill you AGAIN for the install, then I'd complain, otherwise, take the car in and get your stuff installed.

No man, I used to work as a Salesman and then a Finance Manager at a dealership. Just take what you can get. Without a 'We Owe You' and/or proof that what the finance manager said about the camera in the rearview, then they only have to honor the part about having a backup sensor/camera. If it's just a sensor then it's just a proximity sensor that beeps when you get close to something or if a child runs pass the rear of the vehicle while in reverse. Sorry bro, you're SOL. I wouldn't recommend a consultation with a lawyer. They won't make much money off your case so they would probably care less.

Do you mind me asking how much they would owe you if you did get your money back?

If I read this right, he's saying that the back-up camera & monitor was on the "we owe you" sheet but it didn't specifically say that the monitor would be in the rear view mirror.

He asked the finance guy about it who said "the monitor will be in the rear-view mirror".

Now he finds out that the monitor they will be installing will mount to the dash and he doesn't want that type.

Think about that for a moment. Not being able to understand something so advice can be given is not hateing. It's simply not understanding and being able to help.

There's a difference between hating and actually having trouble understanding your situation because of a language barrier.

Disclaimer: Not a lawyer.

You have a claim for the value of the backup camera that you already paid for. It's actually kind of scummy to try to get the value of goods you DID receive refunded, unless you intend to return said goods. I can't imagine a court not finding individually priced line items on a sale contract severable.

True, but he could be a **** and sue for his time and hassle involved in taking them court rather than a specific item's value. Typically goes something like I spent "78 hours handling this issue...at $50 an hour... they owe me $3900!"

I wouldn't be surprised if, after losing, which he would, his attorneys got served with a malicious prosecution claim for outrageous figures like that.

Is a dash mounted monitor even legal? (on top of dash could interfere with your view of the road)

I would go to the dealer and say that if they can't give you what you were told (rearview mirror monitor), then to refund you the cost of that one accessory. It you haven't gotten other accessories on yet and don't want those, ask to be refunded for those too. It's not the same as the car - you haven't taken possession of the accessories yet. They're not installed yet. You can "return" them like you would return a normal item.
