I just took a chance with the flex z for the price. I've heard good things about then but I have realistic expectations.just need something to replace worn out 2013 suspension and give me time to understand what I want from the car.

At 700, save a little more to avoid rebuying something else down the line

Our stock suspension has coilovers. Springs being more comfortable then some of aftermarket coilovers sounds a bit misleading. Imho it would be better worded that stock shocks in many cases are more comfortable then many aftermarket offerings (due most commonly having softest rates among them).
Though there is problem with limiting bump travel when lowering too much. Both springs for stock & aftermarket coilovers should have much firmer spring rates to not easily bottom out with now too unwisely little travel left. So when lowering that much comfort will be lost with both lowering springs and coilovers. And in addition to that also fscked up geometry. Given that low budget was mentioned, makes me guess that OP won't have budget for extra parts needed, eg. for roll center adjusting, diff riser and so on. Handling and comfort will be compromised in all lowering for cheap 2" ways, so imho he should just do whatever he wants. All ways will suck or will need more money then he wants to spend .Imho advise #1 should be to be more reasonable with extent of lowering and lower less, within 1". |

Everybody is going to say whatever coilover they have is the best. I have and would look into the Meister R Zeta coilovers. They are designed for the shitty raods apparently in England. They are very good on the shitty roads over here as well. I paid less than <$800

My MCA Street Performance coilovers with 6kg front 4.5kg rear with dampening to suit are more compliant than OEM and handle much better than OEM PP Sachs.
Plus the 20mm recommended drop puts the rear camber right on -2.0°. Front is set to -2.2°. Apart from the traction mod and RS4's the rest of the suspension is stock. Brilliant for DD, very good for track. TL;DR Buy something designed for your use, not one size fits all. https://mcasuspension.com/suspension
