Will do they should be here early next week. Compared to the Kosei's and RPF1 I think these will be better looking for the street that I can live with. The other 2 I would only rock on the track.

17x8 +45 with a 235/40/17. Ever so slightly less diameter than stock(offsets the acceleration lowering of wider tires by slightly improving the gearing), similar weight tires, and more overall grip. Only problem is more limited tire choices. There are lots of good and light 17x8's for every price range.

I had a set of team dynamics 17x7 that were really really light - I think about 16lbs each or so - they served me well for a couple of years before I went wider.

Tire selection can be a total deal killer, luckily for a 17x8 wheel a 225 seems to fit decent so there's no issues getting what you want as 225-45-17 is pretty damn common.

235/40/17 would be the perfect size for 17x8 but selection is very very limited. 245/40/17 is close to outer diameter as well but heard some people say not to pinch on 8" wheel. 225/45/17 is most common but to me too tall and ruins gearing acceleration. So I went back to stock 215/45/17 which may have a little stretch but within the tire company recommendations and keeps it light!

Yeah, I'm running a toyo proxes t1 sport 235/40/17 on a 17lb 17x8 right now. Same weight as stock but significantly more grip and better acceleration than the previous 215/45 and 225/45 PSS I was running before. Might just get Z2 star specs next. Also I'd totally have no problem running a 245/40 on a 17x8, I've known numerous decent drivers track on that setup, it's not much different than running a 235/40 on a 17x7.5 which I've done before too lol

+1 to Hankook Ventus V12
Which Ventus Should one get on a 17x7.5 rim?

Listed online are:
215/45ZR17 - 91Y or
215/45ZR17 - 95W

or AS3+ with these specs ok? Not sure about the Ws and Ys!
Size: 215/45ZR17 91W XL

These W and Y are speed ratings, W rated tires are tested above 168 MPH, while Y rated are tested above 186. Either way, both are Z rated tires and will handle whatever the car can dish out.

Edit. Ventura posted a good link as I was typing this, they explain it pretty well

The Ventus 215/45R17 size should be a good match for a 7.5" wheel. If you look at the tread width of the tire, it is right at 7.4" which hits the nail on the head for a 7.5" wheel.

Lol - I didn't feel like typing all that. There are other links on that page as well which explain sizing, etc. which would be good for OP to read through.

THanks That's good to know a 245/40 wont pinch too much for the track. Something to keep in mind if my 215 don't provide enough grip I can still keep the lightweight konigs and put on a wider tire without going taller in the future

Just for some more confirmation, I am running 245/40 on an 17x8, and they do not look pinched and the response is decent. (Although they are a little skinnier than most max performance summers)
