haha, when you think about it, for the cost of the R34, you could buy a R32 & a R35.

How difficult/easy is it to buy insurance for a RHD vehicle in Ontario?

The WRX, EVO4-6 and R32 all seem like interesting cars for the winter, however, I don't have the $$$ to actually get one right now to find out.

I know a guy who specializes in RHD insurance.

It isn't easy from what I hear, but it's possible.

The last thing you want in the winter is a RHD car! Passing and left turns are an adventure during perfect weather and I would not want to even think of them in the snow. Besides bringing them over is expensive so you need to really want the car for what it is not as a winter beater.

Met a guy with a pristine RHD Evo 3 at a meet during the summer. Car cost $40K and shipping, permits, inspections, taxes, duty and what sounded like bribe money cost $25K. He said he had no issue getting insurance and it was no more than he was paying on his 08 Evo X when it was new.

I think, just like any car, your driving record and postal code might muddy the waters a bit.

If you have high insurance already and you're driving a bone-stock Hyundai Accent, and you live in Brampton, you're going to have a pretty steep hill to climb trying to get an RHD car insured.

Whereas if your record is perfect, and you live in the sticks, you would probably stand a better chance.

Yep. But it will have little or nothing to do with it being RHD. Call your insurance up and ask how much they will charge for replacement value on a 20 year old car that you have sunk $65K into. Once they get over their laughing fit they will figure out a price based on all your particulars. Not even convinced they would ask or care which side it is driven from.

You need not look any further than the 240SX community to know that you're right. In fact, at the rate the twins are depreciating, it won't be long until their values get close to that of a nice 240. It will be interesting to see how that clash affects things.

R8, Z06, ACR, 911, and 4c are just a few that come to mind for me. I'd never even consider buying an R34, not even for half that price point unless I was so filthy rich I was literally just going out and buying every nice car that I even liked a little bit.

In a perfect world, maybe a winter weekend car?

One can dream haha

I wouldn't really consider it rare, just because it was never sold in North America.

Less than 15k made worldwide is pretty rare in my book.

Maruyichi Auto always have a two page ad on the free Chinese car classifieds that you can pickup at some Asian restaurant store fronts and food courts. It looks like they resell used cars at inflated eBay prices (usually anything JDM or rare). They are affiliated with MS Auto (probably same owners).

I remember they posted a S2000 CR asking for $50k+ but the real turn off is that the listing reads BC Racing coilovers LMFAO! Only hypebeasts would pay that kind of resell in cash.
