I never really fell in love with MPSS on an Evo. I've like all the Bridgestones I've had over the last few years, from the RE-11A to one of their all seasons. Currently have the S-04 on the BRZ and WRX and would buy again assuming my needs remained the same, which sound similar to yours.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys. Really appreciate all your responses. I ended up pulling the trigger on a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s (what a foolish sounding tire name lol). It was between them and the BFG Sport Comp 2 which a few of you suggested. Both tires are essentially the same price and perform very much the same. The Firehawk Indy 500 is a new version of the RE760s. From the sound of it, the BFG Sport Comp 2 and Indy 500s are neck and neck in the reviews. I'll post back with the results once these suckers arrive!

Looking forward to hearing your impressions as I'm considering these as well for my next set of tires. Silly name indeed; they're labeled as Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 outside of North America.

I've found that the Continental DW's on my TRD 18's stick very well, but you do lose some feel with them.
Edited to add: After a few weeks, I found that the tires were incorrectly set up by the dealer with "all square" inflation pressures- TRD indicates a two to three pound difference is needed in the front vs rear (front pressure higher than rear). Dramatic difference in handling, and overall tracking feel. This information is on a TRD inflation sticker that is supposed to be placed over the original pressure sticker on the door sill. It wasn't. Last edited by Shinigami301; 07-27-2016 at 05:16 PM. Reason: Added information |

Had the RE760s and the Goodrich Ge Force... on my previous car. Both were very good, with a slight nod to the Goodrich. I'm now on the Conti DW and don't have many miles on them but like 'em a lot. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I wonder if MPS4 can be an answer. Supposedly not worse then MPSS (unlike MPS3, which just rode on name, in reality being completely different), if not even slight improvement, but at least here this newcomer seems to be priced cheaper then MPSS. At least planning to try MPS4 once current set is worn down.

I DD my RS3 on the street after they wore out the sticky from AutoX, and they drive soooo much better than the Primacies(still sitting in garage).

I have PSS tires.
They're decent for autoX (not pretending to be as good as a 200tw), decent for track (same). For street? They're perfect. They have more front end bite than I can overwhelm on the street, yet I can still slide the back at will when I want to, and the rear will grip like crazy if I want it to as well. They wear REALLY well too, considering how much grip they have. I'd put that on the dual compound construction that the other competitors don't have. The outer tread and shoulder feels more like a 200tw tire, the middle is more like a 300+. So straight line driving, they BARELY wear, and under hard cornering, the outer 1/4 of the tire pretends to be a grippy tire. Worth the extra 30/corner over the other 300tw uhp summer tires, in my opinion. |

Excellent tires and I found them to be significantly more linear than the Primacy's for drifting as well, in fact they are without a doubt te best tire I've had on the ass end of the car. Plus they last a damn long time and if you wear them out early (before 30,000: you will if you drive the car how it's meant to be driven) then you can get a HUGE discount off your next set due to Michelin's fantastic warranty program! That actually makes them a LOT cheaper than face value! I'm going to try RS3's next myself though, just to see how they compare at AutoX and canyons.

I run the BFG G-FORCE SPORT COMP-2 on my commuter Corolla they are a great tire for the money. I know my Corolla will run circles around my BRZ which is still on the factory tires. I'm not sure how long they will last on a heavier car like these though. They are pretty much bald after 25k miles on my Corolla.
