There are 2.5" and 3" options with the kit.
Really, unless your going huge hp the 2.5" should be sufficient. So any OP/FP that fit stock would work. |

Updated with some small YouTube videos.
*8 month review* Kit is still awesome! I am starting to want to change some things such as the BOV and upgrade to the garrett turbo.. Not really looking for more power but better throttle response. I have developed a little oil leak at the exhaust housing on the turbo....Need to figure that out this week. Dynoed a couple months back at 320whp/271 ft.lbs [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cvpIzv2Mc4"]Subaru BRZ jdl turbo v2 kit dyno run - YouTube[/ame] Next up for changing is wheel/tire and aero....

I didn’t originally. I have since gone back and put them in.... definitely made the intercooler top bracket to long so I had to cut it down a bit

Were you able to find that leak? Was curious to see where the oil leak was coming from as I’m waiting for my kit with a GT2860RS.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oil leaks on ball bearing turbos are often due to too much oil pressure. The stock oil pressure is usually more than required for a ball bearing CHRA so a fitting with a smaller orifice is usually used to avoid oil getting through the seals. I'm not sure what JDL supply.

Coming from oil return line. Added hose clamps on it and it has gone away

@Jesse@JDLAutodesign Would you say that the Garrett BB turbos in your kits benefit from having a restrictor installed at the oil feed? I know our engines have 90+psi of oil pressure at cold start idle and according to the article armstrom provided, the turbo should be receiving 40-45 psi at maximum engine speed..just wanted your opinion on the subject. |

Update: 1 full year done with this turbo kit... 11k miles. No issues with the kit minus a small oil week which was my fault. Tune from James at HRI is still great. Need to do spark plug soon but other than that the car performs flawlessly.

Update!!!!
Car has been running this kit for over 2 years. I have moved to south Texas where the heat has shown no mercy on the car. Car still running strong but clutch and tranny problems have shown up. Engine still good at 88k miles.

First thing I'll say is, customer service is great.* Im sure they were tired of hearing from me as I can be quite impatient.* The kit build time up until it was delivered to my door was almost 1 month exactly.* Was a wonderful surprise when it arrived Christmas Eve.* Arrive in two packages and took two UPS guys to drop it off.* One box was damaged but because the kit was package extremely well, no damage to components occurred.
On to the install......no instructions which made this install extra fun.* All in all, it took me the better part of a week to complete.* Mainly because I only worked on it a couple hours a day.* Ease of install, I give it 6 out of 10.** On to my gripes.* First off, the tubing for the coolant running from the throttle body to the turbo is slightly bigger than the fittings on the block and the throttle body.* So when tightening the clamps to ensure the hoses sealed, the hose clamps broke.* No biggie, I went out the the hardware store and purchased heavy duty clamps.** Next, the flange where the turbo mounts to the header could be turned about 2 degrees toward the engine.* There is plenty of clearance between the turbo and the serpentine belt but there is only about 1/8in clearance between the turbo and the radiator fan shroud.* Tweaking the flange inward would also allow the oil supply and return lines to be more vertical.* I also believe this adjustment would help with the downpipe as well.* My downpipe is barely touching a connector on the front of my engine.* I ended up wrapping the downpipe on top of the existing thermal coating and installing a turbo blanket.** Great kit.* I will continue the review after tuning.
