Are they giving you a rental car? that should be factored in to the total amount of money they're paying for the car.
You really should have had another shop do an estimate though. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk |

Well... This is a toyota certified shop.. So...
Yea, I got a rental. After they repair my car, I'm only hoping for three things. 1. Frame repair is back to OEM 2. Color matches 3. Random shit don't break all of a sudden |

Shops and insurance compaines don't just pay to paint your whole car for no reason. They pay for adjacent panels to be blended for color match, which is all that is needed for a reputable painter to make an invisible basecoat blend. As for paint itself, it will be mixed in whatever paint system the shop uses (ppg, Dupont, silkens, etc). That way the color can be tinted for the best blend-able match possible.

This could possibly be the source of a lot of your troubles right here.
A situation like this is exactly why you pay for insurance: they'll fight for you so that you don't have to. This is also why finding a reputable body shop is important so that they'll fight for you too. |

The shop be it Toyota or not works with that insurance. They're partners. They're not there to do what's best for you.

When blending panels the new basecoat is faded out into the adjacent panel so you can't tell, then the whole panel is cleared. The whole blend panel does not get new color. As for fading, I wouldn't worry about it. Especially since the car/paint is so new.

Sorry to hear about your situation FRSure, this really sucks.
VA has a law that the car's damage must exceed 75% of it's value?!? Another reason to hate that state, sheesh. When I crashed my BRZ I had it insured for $30,850. Estimated repair cost was around $18,500, or 60% of the car's value. It was declared totaled, thankfully.

Looks good to me. Moldings in this estimate refer to the two black rubber moldings between the roof and sail panels, then the door moldings are the black weather strip that seal the door glass to the door frame. Usually refereed to as a belt molding. Repl means replace, r+I means remove then reinstall after paint. Blnd are panels that are being blended into for color match (doors)

Sounds about right. 4 hours pull time on the frame isn't much at all. Its probably only bent on the end brackets where its welded to the rear body panel. Pretty common on rear end hits we do them all the time

Good news to hear. I'm guessing it's super minimal right? Will it affect alignment a lot?
