Just guessing here , but oft is working on old format tune files where you download rhe complete tune file as you flashed back to stock with old beta version ?

But it does not work ,write greyed out on latest database .dev format 1.5 tunes. ?

This is likely to bex either you ROM is not in the database or your stock rom is not 100% stock ,has any othe tuning device been used eg tactrix or ecuteck as it may have changed stock rom with licence info ?

i dont understand your first question
yes the read/write is grayed out on latest .dev 1.5
i only flashed it once since i received the oft, no other tuning device has been used. its just a little off putting when i would like to use oft for 2nd time since i bought it it doesn't work. i know this is a new device to tune this car with so theres going to be some hiccups.
i don't really know a lot about tuning which is reason i went with oft for the plug and play aspect, but i can't seem to get playing.

The 1.5 version tunes are released in a different format to all the other previous tunes, the same thing happened to me

I could flash all the old format tunes 1.3 1.4 ect just not the new 1.5 database format tunes.

The old tunes you get the complete ROM files so I believe the OFT just checks the calid(ROM Type) and if it matches sweet it will flash the ROM.

on 1.5 version tunes the OFT actually builds the tunes (add changes only to stock ROM) so the OFT has to be very sure the ROM in your car matches the stock ROM exactly so I suspect it checks checksums in your ROM as well as the CAL-ID against its database of supposedly stock ROM's.

It possible that Shiv had been given a za1jbooc ROM ie your ROM type that is not 100% stock (this happened to me on G01 series ROM) once Shiv replaced the ROM in his database with my 100% stock one all good.

If you can flash older tunes just not the 1.5 tunes then I am pretty sure this will be the problem.

note you have to manually delete the old format tunes from the oft before you load the new database format tunes.

you will need to email shiv a copy of your stock rom from the OFT so he can check it and add it to the database.

When you first got your oft first step was to read stock rom, your stock rom will be stored in OFT.

Fire up the openflash manager software on your computer attach OFT and use the "download" option to download the stock rom (will be in slot 1) to your computer.

Its worth saving a copy of you stock ROM outside the OFT as insurance if the OFT should fail .

I got my OFT today. Downloaded the newest beta .dev file. Uploaded it to the OFT. But when I got to read my ECU, it can't probably read it/match it due to unique ecutek info in the ecu. What are the steps? I flashed to a stock rom provided to me by my tuner.

Then you either didn't get a stock rom file from your ecutek tuner or ignition power isn't on. Are you able to communicate at all with the ecu? Can u see "ecu info" information?
