I was thinking of getting RS*R LOWERING springs, drops about 2". Will Coilovers eliminate that possible rubbing?

I've seen other people say this and I have to jump in, as it's incorrect, unless you're mixing up terms (shock/strut). The front is a MacPherson strut which is fixed solidly to the wheel spindle.

You may gain a teeny bit of negative camber due to lowering on a Mac strut, but the only way the wheel will get closer to the suspension is with crash/camber bolts since the wheel is affixed to the strut. Now, with camber bolts in the lower holes, I was pretty damn close to the strut with 17x8 +48. Putting them in the upper holes would be even closer or touching.

The rear suspension will gain much more negative camber upon lowering due to the upper/lower arm configuration. And since the shock is mounted to the LCA, the wheel WILL get closer to the suspension. Shouldn't be a problem back there, though, since there is so much more room.

2" is a good drop, will be close but you may be okay. Some guys have run these on coils and it fits, barely.

See here, especially page 2.

Sorry for the delay, saw u already got the answer but yes if u lower u will see a little more camber (depending how much u lower u will NEED camber to bring the tops of the wheels inside the fenders or ull rub like crazy) and every bit of camber u add will bring the edge of the rim that much closer (unless u get coilovers)

In the pic, green is the rim and the arrow is pointing to the spring perch (black), this is stock height stock camber

Okay, new question. Still the same 17x9 +45 wheels with 245/40 tires (8.2" tread width, so may go to the 255 for 9" tread, but only if that size doesn't rub.) but instead of lowering it on coils to make it fit, how about 10mm spacers? Effectively making it a +35 offset. It will probably poke a little, but that's okay. I think I could keep them from poking with a +40, but that would most likely rub.

It won't poke at +35. (poke is subjective though)
See my sig for pics and pretty much looks like jshadeck's car (rear fitment) at the top of the page too. Doesn't "look" like it sticks out much unless you put a ruler against it.

255 is a good size tire for the rim, ideal size actually.
Won't rub with a +35 effective offset unless camber settings are way off. You should try to be between -1.5 and -2.5 all around.

Sorry if something similar has been asked..

I have RS* Sports-i coil overs that I will install soon and 18x9.5 +40 Rays Gramlights 57C6 wheels on order. I don't think I will have a problem fitting these but I'm now looking for tires. I was thinking of getting 255/35/18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports but I keep reading that they run a bit wide.

Will these fit?

Thanks!

Tires will fit the rims with no issue. Your camber settings will determine if the outside sidewall rubs the fender or not, but the Michelins have more of a rounded profile so I don't see an issue, plus some folks have run 265's up front and even 275's.

Not sure I understand your question, what's best but won't stick out?

Best offset for an 18x8.5 would be between +35 and +40. The +35 will give you more poke, the +40 will tuck in a bit more. Both should clear stock coils.

Need some help guys,

Will the wheels with 18x9 - 5x114.3 with offset 35 and 215/40/18 tires (all corners) will fit to my stock 2013 FR-S? Currently, the OEM wheels are 17 inch.

With these specs, will the wheels tuck in or perfect flush with the fender?

I am thinking putting the Eibach Pro-kit later.

Thanks.

No issues, but without camber the wheels will poke a wee bit more, but your tires won't rub. I'm running 245/35R18 on mine with no issues.

Here is what it looks like on stock springs, wheels were on for only 3 days before spring swap:

And after the 1" drop on Eibach ProKit:

Oh wait, you said 5x114.3 bolt pattern? That's a no go.

You need 5x100 for this car.
