Good. I was beginning to gather that when I saw how much the recommended size costs. I think I will go with the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 in that case. Thanks for the response.

You will be dangerously close to the front spring perch/strut.

Then why do they offer it? I've never heard of anything like this

Different fitments for different cars...
Not every car comes with 17x7 +48 nor does every car have the same backspacing, suspension placement, fender clearance, etc. if every rim fit every car there would be no "will this fit" forum

Just because they make it doesn't mean it will fit the FR-S/BRZ.

Read this thread and you will not only hear about it but learn what fits.

Peace

Because technically they do fit. The 17" wheel lip sits below the spring perch so the wheel will not hit it, but the tire will depending how wide you choose.

You may be okay with a 225/40R17, anything more I suggest that you check the forums, and search for RPF1 and I'm sure you will find "some" guys that are running this wheel.

If you are running coilovers, you are gaining inside clearance, so maybe that's how the others are fitting this wheel.

In the end, it is your choice, do your research though!

This is the perfect track wheel, but in 17x9 +35. I love those RPF1's!!

15x10 weld's any idea what backspacing would be needed to run these in the rear( only at the track) or if its even possible?

i just got back from the tire store. the spring perch clears but at full lock, the rim does hit the tie rod. im gonna just live with it as its a rare scenario that the wheel is at full lock and at least its not going to affect the performance.

thanks for all the info

I've been doing some research but I still have a question about wheel fitment, as I'm about to purchase a set of rpf1's.

I was originally looking to do a square setup of 17x9 +35 offset, but it seems the front wheel would be too close to rubbing for personal comfort.

I now am looking into a staggered setup and do 17x8 +45 on the front and 17x9 +45 in the rear... I'm thinking the front will be OK but now I'm worried about the rear...

So my question is, will a 17x8+45 front, and 17x9+45 rear be a good setup?

Like I said I've been looking around and I know this had to have been covered before. I must have missed something, any help is appreciated.

I am getting ready to put some 18x9 +40 on 235/40/18 with stock suspension. Any issues? I have coilovers coming but was told it's about 2 weeks out and I am incredibly impatient.

Rear is okay.

Be careful with front tire size up front. (Inner clearance) 235 will fit, 245 will be close.

Good luck :-) very close front inside clearance.
