Not sure if I got a good deal, but here's my story...

Short story, got car with wheel warranty, paint protection, and gap insurance for 305 a month.

Long story:
My mazdaspeed mx5 died one day, and I had pretty much figured out that it was the fuel pump. While returning house keys to my friend, my girlfriend and I decided to go to Subaru, "just to check out BRZ's." Halfway to Subaru in Lynnwood though, for some reason or another, call it divine intervention or whatever BS, I was compelled to go to Lake City Toyota. "Just to check out FR-S's."

Get to LC Toyota and a young salesman immediately lets me drive a blue fr-s. Drove the car, returned to the dealership, and they planted my girlfriend and myself at one of their coffee tables. Repeatedly told our sales guy that I was in no position to buy a car right now. He showed me the numbers with my car as a down payment: 418 and 500$ a month. I looked at him and said, "Cool story bro, can we go home now?"

Next thing I know, he brings his sales manager over. -_- Of course, he mysteriously works his magic and is able to bring down my payment to 285. I was like wow, you'll take "my" [not starting] miata for 6k and offer me that payment? So after a lot of internal deliberation, I jumped on it. Got the wheel protection thing for another 19 bucks. Oh well. I'm out of there with a new car with zero maintenance issues for a while.

I get my car running again on Wednesday and they call me back saying that I have to sign more contracts -_-. Of course, I walk in and they pulled some stuff on me. They gave me gap and paint protection for free while lowering my payments 2$ a month lol. My girlfriend and I left happy.

And now, I drive a FR-S.

To sum up the state of my miata, several hit and runs in the past year, turbo was shooting oil out of my BOV, leaking brake fluid like crazy, had snow tires on it from when my wheels got stolen in November, as well as other problems.

I feel like I got a good deal, but did I?

i think its worth it...i mean, insurance, unless something happens is worth it. But if youre a lucky person and nothing happens, then that money adds up quick (with interest too).

My buddy bought a 1LE Camaro recently and got a flat tire and bent rim from hitting a pothole on freeway. The dealer replaced both.

I'm never a fan of leasing cars IMO but there are benefits as well, especially for write offs for business.

Remember to keep all your stock parts before modding it, so you can put it all back together when the lease term ends!

I HATE HATE HATE selling cars... someday I am going to try a lease to rid myself of that worry. Sounds like a decent deal to me!

Leasing i think is great if you are going to just drive a car and not upgrade parts and want something different every couple years. If you start to get attached to the car and make modifications, the lease will eat you up when you try to buy it out at the end.

I originally wanted a hot lava fr-s. If they still sell this car at the end of my lease, maybe I can start financing one for ownership. Thought about throwing unichip and an intake on there first. Eventually.

doesn't sound like a bad deal, Depending on how many get sold between now and then and how long the hype lasts the buyout might not be bad at the end, and you will likely be very attached to the car by then

It seems like a reg lease deal. The questionable part is how they "sneaked in" the GAP and paint protection w/out notifying you first. I would have had them remove it, especially since you didn't ask for it. I had GAP on my motorcycle and they are a huge headache to deal with and I doubt you'll even use it. If you did, I doubt it would even benefit since it wouldn't depreciate that much within 36 months.
