Given that there are a half dozen threads for every time an issue comes up, those of you involved ( @Carwhisperer @CSG Mike et al) need to copy and paste this link in to each thread it comes up in:

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

After you yourself have filed a notice, of course. Phone calls are likely not going to be sufficient documentation on their own and contacting the manufacturer or dealer without getting their regulator involved is likely to be less efficient.

Best of luck. I was very close to selling my E92 M3 and "downgrading" to an FR-S after seeing Jon Miller's success, but this kind of stuff has given me more than second thoughts.

This is such a disappointing issue. Whether you track your car or not, its something that's just so typical of OEMs. Its things like this where you can see why people go with companies like Porsche and Mazda for spec racing and track. Their American engineering support and involvement exist, you have contacts, support.

This entire issue would have already been addressed. The fact that its not is just another sign how half baked this car is in so many ways.

I'm hearing weird squicky noises when i'm driving, I thought it was the injectors, but after seeing that videos it doesn't sound like that.

So this is established on the stock ecu, what about tunes?
Surely the tuner should not have let it knock excessively?

If it blows up, Subaru/Toyota will replace your engine.

Once.

To me, as I read things, they currently cannot assure owners that the engine will not destruct yet again. But next time = NO WARRANTY.
I think you're being a little melodramatic here.

The reason Subaru is giving for denying the "second" CSG engine replacement is that the vehicle has been extensively tracked. Furthermore, the first engine in his car hadn't failed, they took it to perform engineering tests to find out why the injector seal failed. If his most recent engine failure is a result of this defect, it should be replaced under warranty, track use or no.

If you don't track your car, your warranty is unaffected. If your engine suffers damage due to high rpm shifting on the street, it will be replaced under warranty. If you start to have misfires and popping noises, don't clear the codes, bring it in to the dealer. The more data Subaru has on this issue, the more quickly a fix will be developed for it. As the SA Toyota service bulletin shows, there may already be a fix, but these things take time to filter through the bureaucracy of a multinational joint venture.

One of the problems is that the issue dosn't throw hard codes. It (the code) clears itself really quickly.

+1
On my car, I saw the CEL pop up for 1-3secs while I was driving on the freeway. After that, everything was cleared/gone. I was unable to view anything in my OBDII scanner.

On a side note, Toyota just finished fixing my car. They replaced the driver side injectors. No ECU flash yet...

That's True Mike, only got P0351 for me one time and that was it. Dealer couldn't replicate it themselves under the normal driving I was doing at the time of the code popping up.

Not what I wanted to hear.. I honestly would take it easy, unless if you want it back in the shop within 2 weeks like what happened with me.

Any idea if they visually inspected the rest of the injectors?

Yes, all 4 injectors were inspected. The 2 passenger side injectors looked great, 1 driver side injector was badly burnt and missing a collar, and the other driver side injector was partially burnt but still had the collar in tact. They went ahead and replaced both drivers side injectors.
