@cfusionpm, my PS3 wireless is just fine? Didn't the original 360 require a wireless adapter which was like 50-75$? Also, HDMI cables were 9$ wholesale when the cables were first introduced. And you speak of hating the little things here and there. Wouldn't slightly less graphical game performance, having to swap DVDs in game, and recurring risk of RROD be considered "little" annoyances... to me, they're big annoyances, but that might have been what you meant.

Yeah, RROD was an issue. One that MS dealt with pretty well. I'm on my 3rd XBOX with no out of pocket cost thanks to warranty commitments (though, could have been a BestBuy thing instead of MS directly). My current model is a Jasper chipset, the last model before the 2nd gen refresh, which has run flawlessly since. My good friend has his poor first gen PS3 fail a couple times; usually hard drive issues. He had to pay a costly third party to fix it each time.

Which games had less graphical performance? The ones that ran smoother on 360 since it was easier to code on? The only game I ever had to swap DVDs on was Mass Effect 2 and 3, and only happens once in a 30+ hour game. How about the fact that almost every PS3 title outputs natively in 720p instead of 1080p? Even huge first party titles?

Sucks I had to buy a wireless adapter, but at the time, everyone was hardlined or not used at all. Sony's first wireless adapter was utterly useless, it was so bad that I had to run a cat5 cable across my house just to make the thing usable. Fair point on cost, but at least their wireless adapter worked (and still works to this day).

It's pointless in arguing with an obvious Xbox fanboy. I've owned all 3 "major" systems. I say major in quotes because the Wii is just a rebadged GameCube in my eyes.

I'm truly happy MS took care of you. I went through 3 Xbox's myself, and was never taken care of. 100$ each time. It's sad your friend had to pay to fix something he could have easily done himself in 10 minutes.

Hell, you can see the compression artifacts on more than 1 xbox game while you're playing. The name of the game with MS is nickel and dime. Want wireless? Pay 100$. Want a hard drive? Pay 100$ (not now, since they are usually included). Want a hard drive that can store more than a picture or two, pay. Want a system that doesn't sound like a jet every time you're playing a game.... well.... too bad on that. Couple that with using DVD's as a media and, well, how many discs did Final Fantasy come on again?

It was an easy choice for me, especially after the third failure of my xbox. I found myself buying only exclusive titles for the xbox. Anything universal was going on the PS3. Movie watching? PS3. Streaming? PS3. Online gaming? I'm not paying to hear some 12 year old lose his shit after you sneak up behind and kill him. After the third repair, I just sold the thing while it still worked. The Wii was used for 3 weeks, and then promptly converted to a paper weight. I've tried selling that thing, but nobody wants it.

This round, I'm not even going to buy a console. It's back to PC gaming for me. I'm pretty unimpressed with both machines.

PS4. I've always been a Playstation guy, I love the exclusives and the tech looks really promising! I will get an Xbox One for its exclusives like Forza, Halo, and Gears of War, but PS4 will be my main console.

I'm going with the PS4 and I had all the playstations and I never had a problem with them and I like their exclusives and I like playing online where I don't have to hear annoying 13 year olds.

My brother has Xbox and the graphics seem gritty compared to the PS3 but that's my opinion. For instance, Dark Souls for ps3 looks fantastic, I watched my brother fail at Dark Souls and the video quality looked like he was playing on non HD TV.... and the TV was a Vizio 1080p 60mhz 32 inch and my TV is a 26 inch Vizio 1080p with 60mhz.

I'm not a fan boy, but I like what I like... just how I like my cars. I don't have all Sony products in my house.. I have a Vizio TV, Samsung TV, Sony Blue Ray Player with Netflix( so my gf can stop using my Ps3 when it's game time!)

My thoughts on everything. I do like the xbox setup better (xbox live, quick updates, good multiplayer), but everything except online is better on the ps3. Thankfully the only competitive games I really play have pc equivalents.

I just don't see the appeal of paying $600+ for a new console? You could build a PC with better specs and have true high resolution with just about that price (maybe a *little* more)...
