Just had this happen this morning, car would not start. Fob won't lock/unlock.
It did start once I pushed the start button with the fob.
Once parked at work, the start button now functioned with the fob in my pocket now.
But the lock/unlock button on the fob does not work, while touching the door handle allows it to lock/unlock.

Strange... Maybe the fob battery is low so it's signal sending for lock/unlock command is too weak?
But fob has enough signal for the car to know it is near and allows the door handle lock/unlock?
Guess I can try with the 2nd fob once I get back home.
Only been about 1 year, fob battery for my other car lasted years...

I did the same things. It was kind of embarrassing. But I figured it out. It has to do with your steering wheel being locked at its turning limit.

The solution?
Just unlock the steering wheel like you would a regular keyed car. (by turning it slightly and then push the button at the same time)

Its intentional and has to do with situations in which you could be parked on hills and if it auto unlocks the steering wheel when its turned to the limit it will swing the wheels in the other direction and could cause you to crash on an incline.

It not starting is also intentional, its to stop you from driving a car with a locked steering wheel.

they think of everything.
