Clutch pedal springy sound

Hi,

Start to notice that my clutch pedal is giving me a "springy stretching" sound towards the end of the pedal stroke.

Sounds like a lack of lubrication or some spring is getting old. I have around 14000miles on the car now.

Sound is audible from outside the car when depressing the clutch pedal. Had sprayed lots of lubricant inside the car but sound comes out after the car has been driven for some time.

Anyone facing the same issues?

Cheers

I hear something similar but I wouldn't call it an issue. It's always been there. These cars are raw in terms or mechanical feel/sound.

Clutch pedal noise/knock is on every manual 86, but you have to be tuned in to hear it. I've asked others to press the clutch and they can't feel/hear it, when I can from the passenger seat. It is the clutch switch:

Ive had the same problem right around the same 15,000 kms, went into the service guys, they lubed behind the pedal and under the hood where the clutch pump is. it took a bit of time till the lube settled in, i sometimes hear it and mostly no.

im not sure if my clutch switch, sensor sticks out that far. I'll check tomorrow and make sure, but I think mine is much shorter than that.

Mine makes a creaky noise, but it's the clutch itself, waiting for 35k for warranty replacement...

Had my issue solved at the dealer, basically they said the clutch fork is not lubricated well.

You can see this mechanism in the engine bay move as you step on the clutch.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

If you put your head (awkwardly) under the pedals looking up, you will see and hear the spring at the top of the clutch pedal - I can occasionally hear it whilst driving. If this is what you are reporting, a little lube will fix you up.

So they lubricated and the noise went away, or they explained it to you and you were happy to live with it after that? If they repaired, what exactly did they do (i.e. dropped the gearbox)?

Yep, aware of that and the difference. This is coming from the clutch, verified with the car in the air. It's also clearly coming from the center of the car, not from the pedal box

The sound was gone and the springy feeling also disappeared.

They told me which part they had greased. You can access it from the engine bay.

However, I can almost feel the sound coming back again ever so slightly. I think this clutch pedal does not withstand half clutch action in hot weather. It does not help there's alot of choke up traffic so there's quite alot of clutch work. If it comes back, I just have to grease the part in the engine bay again.
