leaps and bounds better..? Can it lay flat and allow for the low COG that gives the FRS its great handling.. can it growl like the boxer..
dont get me wrong.. Honda makes some fine engines.. but this boxer engine has nothing to be ashamed about..

Actually, the Honda Fit is a blast to drive, very light and precise steering feel, good shifter (manual), and surprisingly roomie. It's not comparable to the FR-S, but not a bad car.

With basic bolt-ons and tunes, people are getting 230hp to the wheels with the k20z3. Not only that, but it revs over 1000rpms higher than the boxer engine, and when tuned correctly has a much more accessible power band. It's a much better motor.

But it's in a butt ugly FWD civic.. And it can't lay flat and make the car more rewarding to drive.. And the world is just learning the new FA20 and its capabilities.. There are lots of good engines out there with more power..etc..
I'm talking about why they used a boxer and how it makes the car better..

I had an '07 Civic Si before I had the Evo, Si's engine and navi are the only things I liked about the car.

Exactly.. A good motor in need of a good home..
I had an accord V6.. Great motor! Seriously smooth with good torque and linear power. But the car itself based on the engine is horrible. It plows in corners, they use huge amounts of torque management to hold the engine back to avoid torque steer and slippage and to save the tranny.. A great engine looking for a home.. I traded that V6 in for the 4 cyL EX-L version.. A much better engine for that platform.. The engine is only part of the equation...

I had a 2008 Civic LX. I wife ask if I was sure I wanted to trade it in. Everybody knows how well I took care of it. After me and my wife drive off the lot, she had this big smile on her face. I don't miss th Civic. Enjoy the car.

And I'm saying that the FRS is a much better car, but the Civic has a better engine.

Revs higher...so what? Understeers like a boat...nothing close to what the Si USED to be. The K20 is a great motor but the Si is NOT a great car overall. If it were wouldnt you be driving it rather then the 86?

As I said before... The FRS is a much better car, I'm glad I jumped ship. I'm just saying that the Civic had a better motor. Gotta love how butthurt FRS owners get when you say that anything is wrong with the car. hahaha

edit: and if you've driven a Civic Si, you'd notice that it definitely does not oversteer like a boat. It even goes around the track (barely) faster than the FRS. Still has power to the wrong wheels though.

Gas mileage is good in the fr-s.... if you don't rev high on off ramps in 2nd gear lol. I am averaging 26.5 mpg because I can't seem to control myself when a turn comes along . When I do drive conservatively, I average about 30-32 mpg. Now I have stickier tires, it's hard to resist

Ive driven SEVERAL...the large front sway and small rear sway dont help matters any. You can upgrade to a larger rear downgrade the front to help but it still oversteers...its hardly asshappy like the orginal Si with passive rear steering. And dont get me started on how they made the Si a Coupe and Sedan. Was into honda for 12 or so years....
