I'd say the speed he reeled in the 911 is a good indicator too

Dyno plots are so rarely understood, everyone tries to do an apples to apples comparison and throw the numbers around. The numbers really don't have any meaning EXCEPT in reference to the baseline run, and even then that is not necessarily accurate because of environmental conditions changing between the baseline run and the run after the modifications have completed.

It's nice to throw around numbers but honestly they're worthless.

Now measuring the size of Robi's grin after driving... that's probably more meaningful.

Enough said right there, I spent some more time in our test car today (Currently running the most recent version of the 91 non-intercooled kit.) and let me say that your first sentence sums it up quite well. Driving this car without seeing the graph, one would easily think the car makes a fair bit more power peak then it actually does due to it's amazing transient response and torque delivery. Robi has been gushing about his E85 setup, which is stronger, but let me say that the base 91 kit is no slouch either.

Man, I swear I'm addicted to this thread like a soap opera. Just read through this entire thing, can't wait to see what unfolds for the Innovate kit! At this point, anyone keeping up with this thread is pretty much dedicated to this kit, right? lol

I'm dedicated to a certain amount of area under the curve. I'm still watching nameless, with their +45 ftlbs of torque in the middle of the dip and forthcoming intake manifold, itb's etc. Let alone a couple other FI offerings.

Are you able to compare it's speed relative to another car? Just curious if this is enough to be a mid-13 sec quarter mile car (in speed) or more like a stock S2000. I drove a BRZ with the new vortech kit and was a little disappointed as it felt about as fast as a stock S2000. I want something close to a e46 M3 or Porsche Cayman S (1st gen). I doubt it's entirely doable with this kit, but just curious to know your take.

I agree. I felt the exact same way. I think for the power you want, get a turbo.

Cayman seems doable with the pulley sized to spin it up to 15000rpm and E85..
E46 M3.... May not have same power but has a big weight advantage...

Meh, just internet armchair guesses

If you need E85 to run with a Cayman S that is very disappointing. Cayman S is 2950lbs and 295hp. If this supercharger can't pump out 300hp (crank) on 91 octane fuel I'll be quite miffed.

The SC is likely capable of moving in excess of 300CFM of air, that isn't really the issue, The issue is the detonation resistance of the motor, you can't simply throw more air at a stock block and match it with fuel and expect it not to ventilate the crank case.

Robi is running E85, which (more or less) offsets the lack of intercooler (he chose not to run) you can swap to a smaller pulley spin the SC faster and get the airflow, but chemistry is chemistry, 91 octane sucks compared to the 109 AKI (anti knock index)

this like everything else comes down to you have to pay to play, if you want to make 150hp per liter on a high compression cast piston motor, 91 aint gonna cut it, well...not with any area under the curve, you can make a good peak number but you'll have to keep the torque (cylinder pressure) down in the low RPM's to avoid breaking stuff,

SC's (proper ones with twin screws) have a direct co-relation of airflow to RPM (significantly more so than a turbo or centi-SC) so you get a similar boost at every RPM data point not an increase that looks like a parabolic curve...it's more akin to increasing the size of the motor, but stresses rise similarly aswell, this is why alot of the BIG HP cars run turbo's and not SC's, engines don't like to see double the factory torque at idle lol

This kit should be possible 300bhp on 91/93 according to the XLS calculator (posted in this thread a few pages back). It'll probably need a smaller pulley, I think I calculated it out to 250whp ~10.5psi.

That's all theoretically though . Once it hits those numbers I'll definitely be impressed.

We know roughly what

A. Non-intercooled + E85
B. Intercooled + pump

does (~250 whp). Now I want to see what

C. Intercooled + E85 + 10 psi

does...
