Oh, of course verbal agreements mean something on cameras, but only if it favours them in the end. Plus anything said verbally isn't law binding unless under oath. So yes, you just witnessed a salesman lying to your face just to secure a sale. how do you feel?

Enjoy getting your car and making the dealer pay for their mistake. I really do hope it works out in your favor.

If you are completely financially sound and simply don't have $1700 cash, as silly of an idea as it sounds, could you use a credit card and simply pay it off quickly? Of course you'll pay a bit of interest, but it seems like your only other option is small claims court. I that case, your only hope is claiming to be unethically and intentionally misled by the salesman with video evidence; the judge may be on your side, but its no guarantee. "I didn't know" is not a valid reason for suing someone, violating a law, or expecting one to be bent in your favor, and the judge could come down on you for it.
If the credit card idea (and $300-500 payments for several months) is simply not feasible, then maybe buying a brand new car is a bit more of a financial strain that you think. On second thought, why were you recording this in the first place? That sounds a little suspicious. Not trying to be accusatory, just playing devils advocate to understand the situation. |

This is why you read EVERYTHING in the paperwork before you sign it. The guy at the dealership could of have told you it comes with a monkey that knowns how to fix the car if it breaks... But if it wasn't in the paperwork and you signed it.... Well shit you don't get the cool monkey.
