Hmm..I'd say the flat torque curve. I don't want to lose the drivability of this car by having a sudden surge of boost at 4K. And I'm not aiming for top power too, this is my daily and needs to be reliable.

So, which kit?

AVO stg 1 provides flat torque curve, Vortech Stg 1 provides a climbing torque curve. Any of the two options are great for Daily Driving.

Sorry for the thread jack!!!

I think you're worrying too much. You don't get a sudden surge of boost with a centrifugal unless you're already at 4k rpm and hammer the throttle.

Centrifugals build boost in a linear fasion as rpms increase. There is no point where it suddenly jumps up like there CAN BE (not always) with a large turbo.

Ok, I might have not worded it out well.

I want more power at the low RPMs (0-4000) because I use my car as a city driver, rarely on highways. I want to be able to weave through traffic easily.

I had the same problem with red epoxy/gunk in the intercooler threads, but I opted to get it out with a small pick. It was almost like cured JB weld.

The air leak sound in cruise might just be the compressor blades. I can hear mine whine from 2100-3400 rpm before the exhaust gets too loud to hear it

mine was a black substance.

the "air leak" sound is def the bypass valve when it's not in positive boost

I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of the lack of low end power is due to a smart tuner going conservative (read safe) at low rpms when tuning remotely by logs instead of in person on a dyno.

Good to read others impressions on the kit including pros and cons.
I am withholding my judgement about the kit until I hear back from my vendors about certain things.

I would hope even when they get back to you, you post what happened. It happens so many times that a good word of caution for other people is hushed away by a vendor because they gave you a good deal and now you feel loyal to them and don't want it to look like you are bashing them. Quick example, no one had ever posted what was the deal with the fuel pumps install. I had to install mine a total of 5 times, because even a DIY in the site was not completely right. I ended up creating an update post with pictures and full details of what was missing in that install instructions.

I don't mean any vendor to be bad mouthed, but if there are issues with install its a service to the community to have future owners be aware of them to be able to prevent them.

Its the nature of the beast. That is the way the Vortech SC delivers its power, continually increasing all the way to the end. I drove one Sunday tuned by Perrin, same deal.

I have a complete install video and review being done the entire process. The reality is I am not happy about the install. But I want want to give the vendors time to address the issues I have before I go off half cocked.

It's a professional courtesy really because it is rare to have vendors actually being apart of the community. One of my goals was to see exactly how it would be to do a major install like this and what type of support you would get doing a complety online purchase and tune.

Did the install so now we will see how the support is.
