There's no way to tell unless you can at least provide width of the wheel as well.

Make sure those 18x8 look the way you think. There aren't too many pics of the Torch, and the ones posted look very aggressive and concave- these are probably pics of the 18x10 or 19x9.5 shown. The 18x8 will have a less concave and aggressive face, similar to the face on the 18x8.5 57xtremes, which is much different than the face of the 18x9.5 57xtremes. You probably already know this, but just wanted to point it out in case.

Is that what we should shoot for? As a guy who isn't really going to race the car, I was looking at just running maybe a 17x8 with a better tire. I don't want to lose the playability of the rear end with grippy tires. And from what I've read, grippier tires can be countered with stiffer sway bars?

I have some 18x9 +35 in stock and they have the concave face, they are 5x114.3 though. He could run them and the Project Kics 10mm adapter for an effective offset of +25 but that would be pretty aggressive.

Pretty much the exact setup I am running 17x9 +35 pretty much the perfect size and offset for 1.25-1.5 inch drop in my opinion.
