The welds, merge collector, and overall craftsmanship is the best available.
I don't know about BEST available. You'd need to get a close up of every header out there. I know coming off the whole Borla debacle might have turned you off, but Chris @ P&L is an artist when it comes to his work.

a few good shots in there,

Plus the group buy for the header + overpipe is still going on for a few days.

As with every type of artistry, a lot of the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally find the P&L EL header's design to be a Picasso. I don't like the "up and over" design but I understand it's functional. I just dislike the pipe taking up all that engine bay room and being so close within millimeters of the crank pulley and drive belt.

Here is JDL's EL header below, just a different design that must be appreciated as a different work of art. I haven't seen a dyno yet for it, but to expect around 190hp n/a on 93 octane gas with a tune is agreeable:

JDL without a doubt in my mind makes the highest quality and best performing UEL header available right now for our cars:

I did come from a Borla UEL header with horrible quality and warped flanges, so I had a chance to do some honest comparisons:

As far as performance goes so far I haven't seen any header make 205whp n/a except the JDL recently with their UEL header + E85 + Moto East Tune + headerback exhaust and intake, dyno below:

and the P&L EL header got close, but did not break 200whp n/a on e85, dyno below:

Different dyno different day, etc, you can't compare the two.

However if you really want to since both have baselines they are almost identical...+40hp and +20lb-ft.

Right now all of the headers seem to be making good power with a tune including the Borla UEL header. I think the Nameless 4-2-1 will end up coming out on top if you can wait. I'd honestly just wait a little while longer for more dynos from 3rd parties, lots of people are buying headers right now.

It's also worth noting that a UEL header has matched the maximum n/a power output and outperformed a EL header (barely).
Technically, the JDL header hasn't broken 205 hp either.

A few things to note;

First, My car didn't have an intake when that run was done.

Secondly, The tune still had power on the table, but tuning was cut short due to my schedule. Showing that it made power over stock was the main goal.

Third, My baseline is more than 14 hp and 9Tq below your posted graph.

I only came here because your constant mention of the welds being the best, but as I said.. the P&L welds are fairly solid.

Same situation here also on my BRZ. 500 miles new. No upgrades and wanting to get rid of the dip. I think i am waiting to see what nameless and perrin are going to produce. Until then i may keep it stock or possibly put a perrin header back. Decisions.

last I heard, perrin wanted to stay out of the header market. They might have changed their minds however.

Reading between the lines in all of the nameless posts, it looks like they're header is a 3 inch and not a 2.5 like everyone else is hence the making the extra power. Due to the increased flow in lack of back pressure they have that dip prior to the existing torque dip. I'm also assuming that they cannot get it to sound right because it will be a lot louder than all of the other headers out there as well.

I mean, why else hold of on a header that everyone wants to pay you money for for almost a full year.

The welds, merge collector, and overall craftsmanship is the best available.

They also include flex joints for durability and a lifetime warranty which Rev Works doesn't offer.
As a mechanical inspector and piping engineer I can't stand expansion joints. They are absolutely important to absorb deflection but are also a weak point and prone to cracking of the welds and covolutes. When they can be avoided without consequences, they should be.

It looks like waiting it out sounds the best option. I think for header piping, 2.5 inch will be optimal for spirited daily driving. 3 inch will be a bit of a overkill and can hurt low end torque.

I'm very curious to see the other headers in person, hopefully we'll have a p&l here to put on the same exact dyno. I don't think the intake matters much. We've not seen any gains on the dyno with it. In regards to expansion joints/bellows/slip fit headers; ideally you wouldn't need them, but that length of stainless is long due to the flat 4 design. It may crack without them due to the long length of piping. How long it would take that may be is hard to say, and the p&l type may do fine over the long run depending on the tube size, weld quality, angles etc...I really don't think you can go wrong here (except the borla...wtf guys...) with any of the handmade ones with a good reputation should serve well. One could easily argue the length is not sufficient to warrant the bellows, but especially on the UEL types, you have a pretty long length going from the right side to the collector.
